Every place I have lived in has been in the path of hurricanes. I always dread the start of the season.

But we had a very nasty windstorm in High Tatras in November 2004, when over 100 km^2 of forests were demolished.

If the predictions are true, then my area(coastal Virginia/ Mid Atlantic region) may be in for a bit of action this hurricane season.

 

I've always lived in a hurricane prone area. First Cuba then Miami.

 

I was born in Florida and then lived in Virginia for 7 years. We got hit by a hurricane when I was 5, but I only have vague memories of it. Now I live in the midwest, no hurricanes but we are in Tornado Alley.

Looks like my neck of the woods is safe from a major hurricane once again, unless some late bloomer decides to develop and head up the coast.
