    Poor student.

    Lives in Scandinavia.

Hardcover? Not a snowball's change in Hell.

Paperback? With nice people who send me summaries and by hunting spoilers...

I can bear the addittional waiting.

Maybe you could find someone in the US who'd be willing to FedEx you a copy when it comes out.

Well... I could adsk my sister... But a hardcover is, like, $36? (At least my copy of VP is... my dad brought it for me on a business trip :))

That's really too much... plus, paperback is easier to handle. I and hardcovers don't really mix.

Most of the hardcovers i've bought here (Alabama) were less than $30. I guess we get them cheaper down south.

    I'm planning on getting it.

When it actually arrives in Australia. Had to wait 2 weeks until it was in stock at my local bookstore.

I'm wondering how long it will take this time.

    Hardcovers :

    EXPENSIVE

    CUMBERSOME

    HEAVY

The only advantage I see is the pretty cover...

It's not like I really like hardcovers all that much. I just like to get books when they come out.

I like pretty covers, too. But I think it's a rather weak good point compared to all the others bad points...

WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG someone kill that kriffin' 1 post per minute thing !!!!

Edit: Just reduced that a bit so it didn't play havoc with browser windows.

I like to get the books when they get out, too... I always order them at my bookshop the day they're released in the US (to get them a whole kriffin' month later... :_| )... But I can't afford hardcovers, so I have to wait for the PB. ANd as I said before, HC have other disadvantges...

Im buying it, but find is disgraceful that waiting for the paprerback means delaying reading Dark Journey and the Allston duology

Thanks RF for pointing out the obvious disadvantage of waiting for paperbacks (I forgot to mention it)... I'm starting Onslaught right now, cause I read it one year ago, and when I finished Jedi Eclipse one year ago, too, I still had more than six months to wait for BP. And when I finally got, I was no more 'in story'. And the same kriffin' thing will happen with SbS.

And another big disadvantage of this is that I CAN'T AVOID TO BE SPOILED BEFORE THE PB RELEASE, since by the time it happens, those plot points are no more considered spoilers...

So yes, when it comes to the hardcover matter, I get all grumpy...

perhaps you also could find someone here in the US who wouldn't mind UPSing you a copy early. heck, the paperbacks have been known to come out early around here.

You're talking about you, right ? ;) Seriously, that be a nice arrangement for me... But unfortunately an unilateral one, I'm afraid... Unless you're interested in Swiss-made chocolate ! :D

But the HC problem remains, unfortunately... And I think that one will remain forever, unless people stop buying HC... I can always dream...

Hey, Swiss-made chocolate is quite good(my dad is from Germany)and maybe i'd be interested in helping you out. I'm a generous sort of fellow when i've got the money to back it up. Anyway, we'll see about all this later.
