FF:NZ Do you play with your Star Wars figures?

OK, so I thought I'd start this poll, so sorry if it's been done before.

I was prompted to do so by someone posting on the main AOTC discussion board the other day. He was very adament that he *collected* the toys and didn't *play* with them. Like there's some shame in playing with toys! Anyway, I was wondering what people thought.

I am 27, and to be honest I never really got out of toys. I played with my SW figures until I was about 12 or 13, until peer pressure got the better of me. Then I started making models, which was basically just an excuse to go to the toy shop every week. I still kept up to date, and by the time I was 16 I started buying toys again. I've been collecting the new Star Wars figures on & off since '95. I don't have anywhere near all of them, and I usually just buy the ones I like. I have some figures in their blister packs (including a Boba Fett signed by Jeremy Bulloch and an original Greedo from '78) but usually I take them up and set them up around the house, much to my partner's amusement.

Thoughts anyone?

simple answer YES

They are toys thats what they are made for

My normal opening pattern is
1) open
2) play with figure
2)a) show partner
3) play with figure again
4) put into room
5) get told by partner to clean up room
6) this normally leads me to decide if i will place figure in one of my displays or store loose
6)a) if displaying play with display and place figure in position, rearrange other figures
6)b) if storing put in bag open star wars tri logo tin and put with other figures i don't have displays for yet.
7) store card in box
8) admire my handy work
9) think about what figure i will get next and where will it go

 

1) Buy figure
2) Admire figure
3) Discuss the pros and cons of opening figure
4) Open the figure anyway
5) Play with the figure
6) Admire it some more
7) Wonder if maybe you should have kept in the blister
8) Play with it again
9) Put it on display
10) Admire it some more.

My usual routine.

 

1 buy figure
2 scaple edge of blister
3 remove figure
4 play with figure
5 show parents
6 play some more
7 put empty blister and card on wall
8 put figure in display bookcase with other figures
9 falls over causing everyother figure to fall over end up loosing at least on accessory in the process get made and levae them
10 2 days later stand them all up again
11 2 months later find accessory

 

um mine... Look at Ace's thats what i do .....

 

I don't buy any figures but I would play with them if I have any.

 

I will most certainly be playing with my 12" Jango Fett ... he puts my electronic 12" Boba Fett to shame.

Well, actually I keep some of my figures protected in boxes and some are loose. I usually open those major characters first, so that when guests come, they won't really be surprised when they see the display shelf!
