Subtitles all the way. Dubbing is so annoying. Theres no way for it to even be done right, so you couldnt even say, "well dubbing is good when done right" - because it never is, nor will be.

Ummmmmm . . . subtitles, but only as the lesser of two evils.

To me, dubbing makes no sense because we get subjected to a voice actor's interpretation of an actor's interpretation of a character. You usually wind up getting a really weird case of culture clash.

At least I can ignore subtitles. Although with RotS, I bet there's going to be a few non-Basic speaking aliens, which means I'll have to read subtitles . . . (for what it's worth, I live in Japan)

I really don't like dubbing, words not matching up with the mouths of the actors bugs me. Also, in dubbing, the acting tends to be pretty bad, and a potentially good performance is ruined.

SUBTITLES, I need to be able to hear the actors correct voice. I get very used to reading the next. it becomes second nature. don't even notice after 3 or 4 min.

Subtitles, without any hesitation. I can't stand missing half of an actor's performance (that is, the vocal performance, which is quite entrancing with certain actors...).

Subtitles all the way. The original soundtrack (voices) is part of the film, you can't take that away.

Dubbed movies are funny, but I prefer subtitles. It somehow manages to convey emotions better if a movie is left with its original dialogue.

I would have to say subtitles. Hero is a good example of how a movie can still be understood even in another language. Just have to pay extra attention. :D

I have to agree with the majority. Subtitles are better than dubbing.

the dubbed version of Ju-On (original "The Grudge") is enough proof that subtitles are the best. dubbing takes away from the original actor's performance, and is usually read in a really corney way. plus most foreign film voice-over actors do voice-overs for a reason...they can't act.
