    Hey guys,

I can't say i read much of it but i am writing one, it is something i have been working on for a long time. I want to know what you think of the concept, so here goes:

The time is right after the Vong are defeated (i don't mention how, just that they are) and the New Republic is really in ruins. One of the new heads of the New Republic Intelligence has gone a little crazy and he starts to incite a rebellion in the outer rim. While doing this he comes in contact with an ancient sith lord. The lord, Nos Min Shala, was killed thousands of years earlier and his legion of followers on the backwater planet of Ratava are close to resurrecting him. The general agrees to help him in exchange for a certain woman he had been watching from afar.
In the mean time, the New Republic is scouting for resources and a probe lands on Ratava and sees the goings on. The New Republic decides to send a recon to see what is going on in depth, and i necessary, destroy any hostile forces. (this is all a covert operation i mind you). The recon gets there and the captain finds this newly reassurected sith and finds out that he is the descendant of the Jedi who killed him in the first place.

    Boring so far?

It's not boring. And anyway, you should write it if you enjoy writing it. That's what's important, that you're having fun.

It's not boring at all. And even if it *was* boring to some people, it's still something that interests you and it's fun to sit down and play in the SW universe for a little while! I have written a few little fanfics, all with mixed reviews. But I have fun writing and that's what is truly important.
Lately, I have been seeking SW fanfic, and I must say that I have been very impressed with some of the stories I have found. Fanfiction.net is a good site, but you have to wade through a ton of pretty terrible stories to find those rare gems.
Budaki - you might try posting a sample chapter of your story over there at Fanfiction.net and see the response you get. If you are motivated to continue, you can keep writing and adding chapters!

I don't read much fan fic any more, at least not Star Wars. I write fan fic under protest. I have a series, TIE Fighter, which is posted at fanfiction.net under my screen name ImperialGirl, which I have been writing for going on six years. Maybe seven. I will finish it because I've said I will, to the people who keep asking for more of it.

I joined the JC to read fanfic :p

I love reading fanfic and writing them, but usually I focus with the Luke stories, I also just LOVE reading AU. Can't get enough of 'em.

Yeah, some of the fanfic out there are kind of bad, but I agree with Gandolf's list, they are the best writers out there. Also Gandolf has written a pretty good fic himself ;)

Other people that are good writers:
Clarus-Very good at writing Anakin-Vader fics
Darth Ishtar-Not a big Luke fan, but her writing style is wonderful.
    Nameless Alien-Another Vader fan :)
Valerie Vancollie-I can never get her name right, but I like her fics
Starr[insert a lot of numbers here]-Luke and Vader fan
Mina-Luke and Vader fan, I love her work
Llaurian-Did I get her name right? Vader fan
Arco-Some of his work is a bit nasty (porno) but he's pretty good at writing Vader fics
Sjade-I am not a big fan of her, but she writes steamy fics and has a big list of AU fics. Not that most of them are very good, kinda redundant.
AngelQueen, Lady Kenobi, Amidala_Skywalker, coauthor's of mine along with Darth Ishtar, they're all good at writing TPM stuff.

Anyway, Budaki, your post really should be at the writer's resource board or something. Post it in the fanfic trailers or something. :)

Okay, i posted in in the Fan Fiction forum. Well, not all of it, just like the first page to see what reaction it'd get.

i find that i get MUCH fewer responses at ff.n than here...it's a nice place to archive your fic for safekeeping, but i wouldn't reccomend starting off there.
