Guys... Be cool.
I disagree with eggs.
I don't agree with it, morally or personally, but you should have the right to do as you please.
That fact that it's illegal boggles my mind..... =S
The government needs to just get out of everyone's business.
The yolk, the albumin, the shell, or the whole shebang?
I just don't agree with it.
I like how this is explicitly designated as an "anonymous" poll. Thank heavens. I am so ashamed of my views on this subject.
Mexico is now very close to legalizing same-sex marriage.
The Mormon Church is also slightly shifting to the center on homosexuality, taking a position much more similar to the Catholic church's... they no longer believe homosexuality itself is a sin, though they still think the act is a sin, and they are going to encourage their members to become more tolerant and compassionate towards gay people.
Aren't all polls on this site anonymous?
It's an option.
Nope. Not all polls are created equal.
Looks like the Mormon Church is taking the stance that it's OK to be homosexual as long as you don't act homosexual.
One step at a time for them
Well, I see that as a reasonable "accomodation" if you truly believe the behavior is wrong and still believe in love your neighbor and all that. Hate the deed, love the person - I can accept that from those religions who feel guided by their "divine."
Though it's still only one step forward...and the belief shouldn't be forced onto others.
Gay marriage is a slap in the face to sacred unions such as Britney Spears's -- I mean, they were together for THREE DAYS. Now that, boys and girls, is commitment! And two men who have been together for forty-years know NOTHING about that!
If your talking about her first marriage, it was 53 hours actually.
Edit: On a semi - related note, that 'one million moms group' has decided to move on from protesting JC Penny and it's spokesperson Ellen DeGeneres.
My sister works at JC Penney. I shop there all the time -- I get a nice discount. (Besides, who doesn't like Ellen? Ellen is cool.)
Ellen is terribly unfunny. I don't support her.
I voted "fully support", even though that's not true because I don't really support anything. I'm generally apathetic toward everything, I've never voted and don't see myself ever voting. So no one really has my support, they just don't have my opposition, either.
Currently my state has a ban on same sex marriage and civil union, including banning public employers from providing benefits to same sex domestic partners. The vote actually passed with 58.6% back in 2004, but according to several public polls popular opinion has changed since then.
Since I think it's total **** that my state actually voted to ban same sex marriage I just might register if it ever comes up again. Probably not, though.
I support it.
Two of my friends celebrated their 20th Anniversary by getting their marriage license since it has become legal here in Washington State - all for it.
My best friend from high school lost his partner of 17 years in November; they had talked for at least a decade about going to another state to marry or at least having a commitment ceremony. I only wish my state weren't so damn stupid.
Don't know if I should use this thread or another, but -
(Paging KK) Now the Pacific NW has its own "NM photographer."
A baker -"public accomodation laws" ...
Edit: apparently it's an Oregon case.
Full support because why not?
Good time to bump this.
