Even if it was free, like angelfire or something.

I think we definitely should. I know I was looking on yahoo typing in (in stream of consciousness) Cleveland Star Wars Fan Club Jedi Knights Of Cleveland, and the like to see if there was any group in our area like the one we have established now. If we could get this site linked to a search engine, more people would know about us. Plus, if we are creating fanfilms, fanfiction, creating costumes, sabers, etc. we could exhibit all of these on the site. I am all for the creation of a website.

I'm not trying to plug my website. This is on-topic. Honest.

I've started up a website called ToscheStation.org. In a nutshell, the idea of the site is to get people together in local communities for just about anything SW related. Right now it's concentrating on Cleveland, but I know the Ohio SW Collectors group has locations elsewhere in Ohio, so I plan to cover those areas too.

I'm not sure ToscheStation would work as a FanForce HQ, but you're more than welcome to take advantage of the site to post events (I hope to have an actual calendar system up soon, if I can find one), use the message forums, post news, or whatever else you want.

After all, I made this site to reach people like you. Well, "us". :)

I had to cut out of the meeting on Sunday, so I don't know who the city rep is, but if anyone wants something posted there, just let me know.

Oh - before I forget, we're getting people together for the TCG and RPG, and there's a "Trading Post" forum on the message board too. Just so ya' know.

I know very little about HOW to put together a website; but for those who know how...I'd support the idea of having a local Fanforce website. Many of the other fanforces have websites, and it would be a great way to attrach new members (although, they'd all have to be registered at Force.net since that's our home website).

This is something we can work on over the next couple weeks/months, something we all can be proud of!

Maybe you should wait until we have another meeting; that way we can brainstorm ideas as a group (in-person) although on-line is good.

OK guys here is the deal. I have talked to my friend in Seattle. He is head of the Web team for the Seattle Star Wars Society. http://www.seattlestarwars.com They have their own server and have said they are willing to host our web site. We can buy a domain for about $15 for a year. They host several sites.
    http://www.aldera.net
    http://www.501st.com
    http://www.reballeagon.com
    http://www.swssa.com
    http://www.waitingforstarwars.com
(yes this the same people that waited in line for AOTC since January)

There will be no banners unless we want them. And it will be a secure FTP access. They run 2 mirrored servers running Windows 2K Server Edition. We can work out the details of who does what and what kind of content we have. There is no real limit on bandwidth or file size. I dought we will even come close to anything else they host as far as those numbers go. So there it is. What do ya think?

Fine, that fine. I just don't want to have anything to do with it. You can if you want. it's not like people take me serious.

That's not true, plenty of people take you seroiusly. And you do raise a good point, let's sit down (preferably at our next meeting) and talk about what we would want to do with a web-site for our Fanforce.
