Yes, this is another thread by me for the first Rock Opera/Album. This is a thread for Jesus Christ Superstar. I became extremely interested in this after the highschool here put on the Opera. The guy that played Judas was wonderful.

I remember going to my highschool's rendition of this when I was in Junior High, it was aboslutely awesome, and I started to get interested in theatre and plays and such.

I love that song about the dreamcoat, not exactly sure what the name was, but it is probably incredibly obvious.

Yes, those two are easily mistaken... sort of.

I loved the part where the people carried Jesus down the aisle, and they were singing Hosanna. That is one of my favorite parts. The funniest part was King Herods song.

lumber have you seen the DVD of the updated version? I rented it a few weeks ago and was absolutely blown away. It so far surpasses the Norman Jewison film version that I fell in love with the musical all over again. It's always been one of my favorites, but the reinterpretation is brilliant.

Please rent it, you won't be disappointed.

 

At my school when they did Jesus Christ Superstar they cast a girl as Jesus. And I go to a Catholic school. Oh, the uproar that caused!
