    • Aphra's back with a brand-new plan that's guaranteed to pay!
    • There's just one teensy problem…
    • It involves surrounding herself by some of the galaxy's biggest baddies.
    • And they don't like Aphra's tricks!
Black K cleans up pretty good. He's almost pretty. Even if he's not still endlessly fighting stormtroopers in the jungles of Yavin IV...

    And the cover for #10:

Looks like Ruur is going to become something of a recurring character/theme

    • Aphra’s mission to make quick credits by auctioning off an ancient Jedi artifact is going to plan…
    • That is, until it isn’t.
    • Meanwhile, a dark figure from Aphra’s past decides to make an appearance…

    • Doctor Aphra has a troubled past full of parental drama and war.
    • But what about her Wookiee shadow, Black Krrsantan?
    • Find out just how this Wookiee warrior is as frightening as they say…
    • …and then some!

Could the "dark figure" be Vader? Or a completely new character?

That's the question. It's possible that Vader has now learned that Aphra lives and decides to kill her for good. But would they really end the series with issue #12?

I'm hoping it's another character and that the description of a "dark figure" is just bait-and-switch to make us think it's Vader. Maybe it is Susina from the short comic in the first issue. Or maybe it is the person who killed Aphra's mother?

Whew, Kev Walker is back for the art thank God, I mean the editors. Oh, and I don't know if this is a tiny nod to Dark Times: Out of the Wilderness #1, but if it is by any minuscule chance, then thank you Marvel!!! It means a lot to a Dark Times fanatic! I'm talking about the Isolate-4 Lab from the preview; there's an Imperial prison ISO-L8 that has a somewhat reminiscent design to Isolate-4, and in Dark Times it was located in an asteroid field (although not attached to an asteroid like Isolate-4).

Anyway, I probably got excited for nothing, but oh well :p

Looks good, though there better be a really good payoff for stringing Rur along so long... he better be Snoke.

"Science is always a good idea." Oh, Aphra. In some ways she's just as naive as Luke.

Is there a specific reason why the cover artist/design is different from the art actually in the comics?

    edit

specifically I mean Chelli Lona Aphra's face style.

It is just that other artists draw faces differently. We use cover artists cause they either look more dynamic, it gives time to the main artist, and certain artists are great but cannot keep up a consistent schedule so they are put on covers *See Alex Ross and Jim Lee

He's most likely not Snoke, they will not introduce Snoke's origins in a comic book before the ST is over. My personal idea is that he may help or even "sacrifice" himself at the end of this arc so that Aphra can escape from Vader.

Doctor Aphra and the Enormous Profit Part 1 (#9/x)
First off, like the cake, the cover is a lie. Aphra actually wears a black/purple dress and not a white one as depicted on the cover.
Second off, the subtitle it pretty eye-roll-y.

So, Aphra goes to all the trouble of activating a crystal containing an ancient Jedi, what does one do with it? Sell it of course.
She invites a bunch of criminals to the Sorca Retreat and gives them her sales pitch: immortality, technopathy, priceless data.

She exits and lets them think about it. Her and Triple T have an exchange where he exploits a loophole in his programming that allows him to contact Vader!

Not a fan of the title but other than that loved the reveal at the end.

Can someone explain to me what loophole, 000 found exactly? Aphra's orders seemed pretty sound to me.

Also was bugged how different Aphra was dressed in the story compared to the cover.

They can only kill someone at their masters orders. However Darth Vader it seems is also still their master ;)

Yes! As long as it's gratifying and permanent since ejecting her into space didn't stick.
