If you think date conventions are a shock to an English cerebellum, ask 'em one of these days whether it's correct to spell 'colour' with the 'u' or not.

Spending so much time talking to Americans through text via the internet, I actually used 'ize' instead of 'ise' for many words and had to retrain myself to spell them how they are here. I'd write a piece for English and get an A*, but be told I really needed to spell things correctly. :p

So can anyone map out how old The Doctor is with each new regeneration and how old he was when was going into a new regeneration? I know current 11th doctor is over 1000 years old, 10th doctor was still somewhere in the 900s as was 9th doctor. and I know First Doctor was over 100 years old and etc. but what about all the others?

No, if only because Canon gives different ages for the Doctor in both Classic and Current Who.

None of the ages are canon, he picks an age that he likes with each incarnation. The only definitive answer we ever got was when he was quibbling with Romana, when he was 759.

The French are convinced that the American date format is also used by the British, they often seem surprised when I say that it's not the case. I've also had English exercises brought home by my son where the printed material given by the teacher contains both spellings of colour or grey on the same page...

Oh and question, when asked How are you? Do the British really answer I'm so so? I know I've been out of the country for a while but I don't remember ever using that particular answer.

"So-so" is a genuine saying, equivalent to "fair to middling" or "mustn't grumble".

Your son's teacher should get the sack, btw. ;)

Hmm... To me, "meh" is a little more negative/defeatist than the vaguely neutral "so-so", etc. I wouldn't say "meh" with a smile on my face. More a lopsided half-frown and a shrug of the shoulders, if you follow my meaning.

"So-so" etc is more about staying vaguely cheerful even though life is ****.

I'd say both are "could be better, could be worse" with a healthy dollop of British ambivalence.

    But I get your point.

I'd rather this than going over Moff's/RTD's atheist commie homosexual chauvinist agenda again.
