Well the colour isn't that important.

Perhaps Missy's plan not making any sense and being ridiculously easy to foil means it was just a bluff concealing a greater plan that makes sense?

Assuming a flying Cyberman army would fix the Doctor's problems is big gamble, especially as we've seen a few Daleks take out loads of Cybermen with ease. Doesn't matter if your army rises from the dead if they don't have the firepower to even significantly damage your major enemy.

But as Missy said, she is Bananas. Why should any plan make sense?

Missys plan was to out herself to the Doctor. Everything else was inconsequential.

I think that was Moffat's plan too

    I hope not.

I enjoyed the series and the finale but the Master plan doesn't make sense to me... Unless her explanation was just a distraction by successfully appealing to The Doctor's ego.

...Unless Gallifrey really is back at it's original position but wasn't visible because, like she said, it's in a different dimension. That's the other thing that annoys me about the ending.

At the moment I'm taking the Master at face value. She wanted to "run" with the Doctor again and figured being in command of a giant dominating army but only doing "good" with it would be a good compromise. Also it might eventually twist the Doctor around to her way of thinking.

Then babies ever after! Maybe. :p

    ...

Yeah it's not a great plan but w/e.

TBH I think most of the criticisms people level at the finale are on point. I just, y'know, enjoyed it... so I'm willing to throw my hands up and admit I've completely stopped approaching this show (for the most part, there are lines I won't cross) from a critical standpoint.

I just...can't stop seeing it critically. Maybe it's because I was mostly grown by the time I started watching the show so I don't have memories of watching it as a child and can't put my head into that state but episodes like Kill The Moon, In the Forest of the Night and now Death in Heaven are just inexcusable to me. There's a base level of logic and reason that has to go into an episode and I learned this season that I truly do have a limit to what I can enjoy.

Death in Heaven pulled from some of the worst finale strategies in the RTD handbook, and somehow found a way to be even stupider than most of those!

I can't not see the major flaws and criticism and that ruined a fair amount of the series for me.

TBF my plan is to just "broad strokes continuity" the entirety of Moffat's run in my mind when the next person takes over. A person I hope actually manages to fulfill the show's incredible potential instead of just settling for entertaining nonsense.

So we all think Moffat will/should leave after Series 9 right? I think he's had a go long enough by this point. If he stays longer he runs the risk of majorly repeating himself and kind of burning himself out from the show.

He's kind of repeating a lot of his own themes now IMO. The Danny/Clara/Doctor story, was in essence a retread of the Rory/Amy/Doctor plot from Eleven's run, except it fell completely flat and did a disservice to all the characters.

So the preview of the Christmas episode shown during Children in Need was intriguing. Good to see Dan Starkey not under Sontaran prosthetics.

Also the Doctor wearing a hoodie!

    What is Gracepoint?

I loved that RTD's "Something is coming" arc phrase across DW and Torchwood, turned out to be ******* Gallifrey.

Maybe the Time Lords don't want the Doctor knowing where they are.

It's the American remake of Broadchurch. David Tennant is still in it

Filmed in my town, by the way. My sister went crazy when she found out Tennant was going to be in town.

This may be just the Walgreens in my town, but I noticed today when I was in there they have Doctor Who stuff in their toy section, like the Dalek and Amy Pond figures I saw, along with three Eleventh Doctor Sonic Screwdrivers.
