Taking the boys to Cardiff tomorrow (their first time) to see the exhibition, and to see as many locations as is possible in 1 day!

 

Bet the exhibition is crowded, since schools are off for Easter.

I agree with that the publicity material for The Rings of Akhaten makes it look a lot like The Beast Below. Or even The End of the World. Perhaps not in exact content, but certainly in terms of a pretty standard introduction to travelling with The Doctor for a new companion. Thing is, this is probably all very exciting for Clara, but for the viewers it's old ground. I'm a little apprehensive, but not enough to prevent me from being excited about a new episode.

The preview for the next episode did nothing for me. I expect it to be a phoned-in effort.

I.... may have passed out for a minute or two just looking at the legs peeping out of the coat. I'm still waiting on a photo of the man in a full pinstripped suit.

 

At this point I'm hoping just for cameos for other Doctors. Maybe they'll all just be hanging out in the TARDIS at some point and all have a moment, but I'm getting scared that it'll mostly revolve around 10ant, Some Chav, and 11.

 

Most of them are saying they haven't been asked back. But then I think of all the months Tennant played cat and mouse with everybody, denying that he was coming back/hadn't been asked back (and please, don't tell me Billie didn't know she was coming back during her Graham Norton appearance. Her hair was Rose blonde for pete's sake!).

But yeah, I'm hoping for other Doctors/Companions popping up.

My optimistic guess is that they're using Tennant (the most obvious casting) and Piper as distractions. I dunno, it would be odd if the other Doctors (who AFAIK are all willing other than perhaps Eccleston and maybe Baker if he thinks he's too old) didn't at least get cameos.

 

Yeah, that's been my running theory. I mean, it wouldn't totally shock me if it was found out down the road, that the BBC deliberately leaked the subscriber versions of DWM as they probably knew as much as they would have liked to have kept everything a surprise, they probably knew the minute Tennant showed up anywhere in a pinstripped suit, his 'Well I don't think I'm going to be asked back" cover was going to be pretty much blown out of the water. And BBC probably knew a segment of New!Who fans would go gaga over the prospect of a Ten/Rose mini - redux in the Special. The pair, combined with Matt, Jenna, and

definitely serve as good cover if they want to do secret filming in other places (like they did with Jenna in Asylum of the Daleks and with Grant's surprise!appearance as the Great Intelligence in The Bells of Saint John)

Has to be more than one. I'll be shocked and disappointed if it's only one one hour special.

 

Hopefully Moffat saying there will be more than that doesn't mean some silly "multimedia event" thing.

 

I'd hoped that Tom Baker would be more inclined to do it since he started doing the Hornet's Nest and Big Finish audios...Hasn't he also said how much he regrets snubbing the Five Doctors?
