I enjoyed The Return of Doctor Mysterio, I thought it was fun. I usually feel 'eh' about the Christmas specials, but I've enjoyed the last two.
I did like Matt Lucas much better this time than last year.

I really liked Bill in the preview for the next season. I was excited anyway, but the preview made me even more so, Bill seems great to me!

I just watched Return of Doctor Mysterio and really enjoyed it. I liked the Who/superhero crossover and thought Capaldi was at his best here.

I enjoyed the special- though it had the least to do with Christmas than most specials have, AFAICR.

The superhero aspects had the fun, campy old-DC/DC-CW TV-budget vibe (as the commercial BTS segments highlighted, it's a bit of a mesh of Reaves and Keaton).

They played the secret identity thing well, but mostly because you could have Capaldi commenting on how stupid it was at times.

The buttons/switches moment was the obvious highlight though. Capaldi was great in that scene, as well as the quick draw moment.

Unrelated but was there some kind of multi-part DW thing airing over the past couple months? I had something like "The Power of the Daleks" or such being recorded in 5 or 6 different parts on my DVR. I had put them off due to school and when i tried to access them they were just empty error files, so I'm wondering if it was just reruns or classic Who mislabeled and scheduled in error.

No its not The Lodger. That was a park in Cardiff (possibly Victoria Gardens?). This one is particularly difficult as a) they built a set here and b) it was shot at night!

Spearhead was the 3rd Doctor Who story I ever watched, at age 7, after Rose and The End of the World, as we owned it on VHS, along with The Silurians, The Ark in Space, and Episodes 2,3 and 5-8 of The Invasion.

It still remains one of my favourites. It's a lot faster in pace than the rest of the season, and the all-film look gives it a unique look among Classic Who.
