Is it a coincidence that the first one Jenny beats up looks like a Young Clooney?

 

Man is there a blog or something dedicated to Strax's makeup procedure? I am so fascinated by how good this facial prosthetic is and I really want to know how it's applied/what it's made with/shaped with.

 

I think they dedicated a portion of "The Poison Sky/The Sontaran Stratagem" Confidentials to Sontaran makeup/prosthetics. You might want to watch those.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed tonight's episode. I hope Mark Gatiss writes more like this and Cold War in future.

 

With the greatest of respect to 'The Crimson Horror', which wasn't bad by any means... I've just gotta say that the preview for next week looked phenomenal. You could just tell it was from Gaiman. I can't wait.

EDIT: If it doesn't turn out to be the best episode of series seven so far, I'll eat The Doctor's hats.

Me too, though given everything Gaiman has been saying about trying to make the Cybermen scary again it's admittedly a bit of a downer to hear that being said about his episode.

 

Well, yes. I'm not going to argue that. Those definitely didn't make sense and were just for the sake of drama. I just shrug them off because oh well, a lot of things in the show don't really make sense However, I completely agree that I really hope Clara isn't on that level, because I do think that a whole pre-planned character arc isn't the same as writing yourself into a corner and wanting good dramatic tension.

I actually don't mind River being a "child of the TARDIS" either, as somehow that whole thing actually makes sense to me in an "exposure to the time vortex" kind of way. It's just the little instances of "whoops someone is dead, quick how do we fix them without changing actors?!" that are clearly cop outs.

Confidential going off-air just in time for the 50th was the height of stupidity.

 

Correct. Can you imagine the awesomeness of a Confidential about the 50th? Can you Rachel, can you?

 

I mean... I sincerely hope they're doing a behind the scenes thing about the 50th anyway. To not do so, to not record the incredibleness of Tennant and Smith (and maybe some other people....!!) together would be literally criminal. LITERALLY. I'm pretty sure torture is illegal in the UK, right?
