Bay, you do know that the old stuff is NOTHING like the new show, right??? It's awful!!! Bad acting, stupid monsters, more bad acting.... Do you know what you are in for asking for a marathon??

After last nights Dalek episode, it's settled. We are having a Dalek vs Doctor Who marathon.

Anyone else see last nights? The Doctor snapped when he realized he was face to face with his biggest foe.

No Deb, I can't honestly say that I know the difference becuase I have only seen a couple of the newer shows, but they can't be that bad...can they?

 

Lets just say the budgets were cheap.

The aliens were at times almost laughable to look at.

The stories, however, were almost always good.

 

BAH! I was at a rehersal that ran til Bloody 7:30pm on Tuesday. I got home at 8:15pm (record time actually) and missed the beginning of Dr. Who.

I asked my friend Emilie to tape it for me (since she's borrowing my tape of all the other episodes) yet she forgot completely.
Anyone have a file of the Episode?

Yes Bay, it can be worse than your worst nightmare!!!

Bad acting, stupid monsters, fake sets, did I say bad acting already..... The stories may be ok, but it's hard to get past all the other stuff.

The new show is actually watchable and entertaining. Can't say the same for the old stuff. I know there are a lot of fans, so to each their own. Again, it's no 24.

 

Would it be better had Keifer been in teh old shows

Well then when ever you see a paper mache alien imagine "it could be keifer under that makeup!"

 

LOL!! And that helps me how?? I still don't get to see his face!!!

 

But you can imagine!

Well we watched the first Doctor and a run in with the Daleks...oh how great teh 60s Sci-Fi thrillers were.... some great laughs there

 

Probably one of the reasons a lot of shows/movies are being redone these days is because they can now make aliens that LOOK like aliens, and the special effects are so much better now (mostly thanks to ILM....)

Then again, when you think of the budgets and technology those old shows had, it's amazing what they were able to do.
