Does anyone actually play SWCCG anymore?

A long time ago I used to play SWCCG with my friends... then we all got busy and didn't do it anymore. I know that Decipher doesn't make it anymore because of a license thing with LFL, and there's some "players committee" or something.

So my question is, does anyone actually play it anymore? Or is it just pretty much dead in the water?

    Thanks

    Almoni

Yeah, there are plenty who still play. Here are some sites of interest:

    www.swccgpc.com

The Player's Committee site, where you can learn who around you plays, get free virtual cards, etc.

    www.decktech.net

Post decks, articles, and reports for review

    www.gameplayersnetwork.com

    Like decktech, but smaller.

Thanks! Well I suppose that there might be a bigger fanbase on the internet... but if say I walked into the random card shop that sets up tournaments, would I find them doing SWCCG tourneys?

Oh, no, not at all. You'll have to look hard for them.

Well i remember when i collected and played. I spent thousands on the cards then after i stopped playing i just completed sets for fun and hoping they would someday gain in value. To this day they have dropped greatly in value. =(

Oh well, although i am glad to see some people still play it.

It's pretty easy to find stuff near you if you post on the PC site. Just say hello, I'm from XXX, do you know of anyone else who is near me who plays? From there, you can at least find a play partner and hopefully some close tourneys.

Err, I don't play, but I keep the cards because of the cool pictures and character bios.

A whole group of us on my college campus starting playing again this past year. We have a lot of fun with it, but won't be able to play each other again until September. :(

I started collecting it years ago because of the great decks me and my friend would make. We both make decks that reflect well off one another (aliens fight in Mos Eisley, Endor fuzz fight, Cloud city bounty hunter battle, Hoth land battle...etc). That way the decks are balenced and you can include just the right cards instead of cards to battle another players mysterious deck that probably won't be played. It makes for much more fun too because the decks can be smaller or larger to suit the theme (the moisture farmer and Jawas vs Tuskin raider deck is only 30 cards each. A nice quick and fun game.

I'm thinking about starting a tournament CCG night with my Fan Force. Not sure if anyone will be in to it, as our Saturdays are allready Role Playing nights, but I think it would be fun.

In my area, we have tournements every other week. Sometimes, during the school season, I could go to one tournement on Saturday and one on Sunday.
The CCG is so alive it's almost like Decipher never lost the contract!

You're fortunate, then...I find it so sad that my cards are all boxed away in my footlocker, eagerly awaiting the day when they can be used. I made up a very basic Episode IV themed Tatooine deck in the last week of school, and now have to wait until September to be able to play with it. It's such a great game.

I still do, but not often. I didn't get into until 5 years ago. Now the only person that still plays is my sister and she's to busy.

i used to play with three of my friends back in may, but we gradually got bored of it. i think i could easily revive it again, which i may very well do sometime soon. i'm anxious to use my killer rebel deck. :)
