I'll be attending Baylor in the fall. Does anyone else go there? Is there anything I should know about it before I head down there for school?

I go to baylor. where are you coming from? are you coming in as a freshman, or transfering? what do you want to study? answering your question as to whether there is anything you should without knowing more about .... oh wait, I just went and checked out your web site. Depending on your view on life, religion, what you want to study, etc depends on how you'll feel about the general Baylor attitude, but like any university baylor is big enough that you can always find someone to hang out with. anyway, this post has become way too long but if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Well I don't go to Baylor. But I do know that Waco has it's moments at times...
Check out the forum here in Waco!

Have you been down to check it out?

Baylor is pretty conservative. A little too conservative for my taste.

I agree with Amidala, but like I said, Baylor is big enough that there are enough non-conservatives to be friends with. I must also warn you that (at least in my department) sometimes the internal politics are screwy. however, overall (like I said) it really depends on what you want to do with your life.

I've known a few people who were really screwed because of politics at Baylor. And something recently made me rethink doing my grad work there.

I'm an Archaeology/Anthropology double major, but the archaeology dept is currently in flux, good thing I'm in good with the profs, so I'll for sure get that major done.

I'm coming from Boise, Idaho. I'll be a freshman there next year. I'm pretty excited about it, but the thing that sucks is that I didnt' really have a choice over where I wanted to go. I'll be a third generation down there, so I had the pressure to "carry on the tradition". Plus, I'm more liberal vs. conservative, so we shall see how that goes.

As for what I'm going to major in, I have no clue...I'm interested in telecommunicationns, literature, and film stuff. Like I said, I have no idea.

That's gotta suck "traditions." Some of the people that I meet from Baylor are real jerks and when I tell everyone that I go to school in Waco-they automatically say Baylor, but I say no there are two other more colleges in Waco. Idaho, man that's far away.

Waco is not a bad town. It's just small and there's not a lot to do.

Not having a choice of what college to go to must really suck.

It's either the mall, the video store, or the movie theaters. That's where I spend my time at.

How's the comic book store down there? I work at one here, so I'm hoping I'll like the one in Waco.

Yeah, Idaho is pretty far, but all my family is in Texas. I've got a Great Grandma in Mart, a Grandpa in Del Rio, and Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins in San Antonio.

There are two in town. Both are good. But within like 30 miles there are a lot more.

I have a really good friend whose parents live in Boise. He was an English major, maybe you should look into that. My roomate is an english major, and even though he's not a real big SW fan he's ok I guess :) if you come down to visit or when you move in just e-mail me (its in my profile) or post and I can meet you and answer your questions as the arise. meanwhile just e-mail or post questions and I'll answer them for you as best I can (if you post you can get the Waco, MCC, and TSTC perspective from the other guys which would probably help as well) and I'll answer them. It'll be OK coming here, I managed to survive for (going on) five years.
