I started watching the star wars clone wars animation series and it calls anakin a Jedi master which he never became and calls Ashoka his apprentice. Idk if the show is just for partial relevance or supposed to be accurate to the movie saga. Does anyone have any answers or comments on this? Thank you very much!

    Anakin's not a Jedi Master, he's a Jedi Knight.

But he is Ahsoka's 'master' in the same way Obi-Wan was Anakin's master in Attack of the Clones, while still being a knight.

And yes, the show in general is accurate with the movies for the most part, being overseen by George Lucas.

First, you should watch The Clone Wars film. It is the introduction to the series.

Second, as already explained, Anakin is not a Jedi Master. He's a Jedi Knight. And as a Knight, he can take a Padawan learner to train. Just like Obi-Wan in Attack of the Clones.

Third, yes, the series is the only project aside from the movies where George Lucas was directly involved. Doesn't get more accurate than that.

Technically the TCW film chronologically takes place after a few episodes of the series.

Just two take place before the movie - the Christophsis ones - Cat And Mouse (Season 2) and The Hidden Enemy (Season One).

Well, yes. But they are inconsequential compared to the introduction of the major new characters.

The Hidden Enemy introduced one major new character (from the "newcanon-only" point of view) - Ventress.

But her introduction in the TCW movie is no less effective than Hidden Enemy's.

Both introduce her in media res, with the heroes already knowing her identity, so it doesn't matter which one a new viewer watches first. (I'd argue Castle of Doom is the better intro, as it has a quick little expository line from Ahsoka about Ventress being 'Dooku's Assassin', which is basically all one needs to know about her.)

Rex is also in Hidden Enemy as I recall. So, "first chronological appearance" of two fairly major characters, there. That just leaves Ahsoka (not counting flashbacks).

Yes, first chronological appearance. But Rex, like Ventress, is not 'introduced' in Hidden Enemy. He's already under Anakin's command.

It's easier to advice someone new to the series to watch the movie first, which introduces the new protagonist and many people forget or know it even exists, than to make him jump back and forward for a couple of episodes that are inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.

    Welcome to the boards, Titans56!

For specific questions like this, it's best to ask them in a preexisting thread. In this case either the main Clone Wars discussion thread at the top of the forum or the Anakin in TCW thread.

    Happy posting. :)
