ST Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux) in Episode VII

Considering what this thread mainly has been about, it`s a shame that Hux is neither Luke`s son, nor has a beard.

 

I think it is something mostly all of us digested long ago.

 

I do wonder how Hux got to such a position of power at his age and if that will be explained or just accepted.

 

Guys, remember when they were saying Ric Ollie of TPM would have a role similar to Han?

Maybe it's an inheritance. His general-father dies, and leaves the general (warlord-like) post to his young ambitious son.

 

How do we know he's not related to anybody from the PT/OT?

 

Frankly, if everyone is related to everyone, the GFFA seems way smaller.

 

But they can all be related to Han cause he's Kasdan's favorite?

 

Maybe Hux did something really cruel for the First Order and as a reward for his loyalty, he was promoted to General?
Or his superior was a failure and got force-choked by Kylo, and Hux stepped in, like Piett was the successor to Ozzel?

this is just me guessing, but I get that sense that he's unusually young for a general, and because of this, he works hard to earn his place and is always trying to prove himself to others. Maybe he's looked down at by other officers due to his age, so wants to make a big impression by way of the Starkiller weapon, or something.



Edit: Or yes, maybe his superior was killed by Kylo lol and he received an unexpected promotion.

 

His youth & lack of wisdom could potentially make him more fanatical & dangerous.

Snoke may also prefer commanders who are more easily manipulated. "Brown-nosers" if you will.

 

I wonder if Hux and Kylo Ren formed a coup against the rulers of an Imperial Remnant, killing them and taking their assets.

 

Gleeson is channeling his young Kenobi there.

 

And later they went to a restaurant to celebrate. Hux made the first order, so they decided to rename the whole organization.

 

Can it be? A "new post in the Gleeson thread" sighting?!?

Wow. I just realized that we didn't get a talking Hux toy.

 

Well, to make up for it I hear the next Hux action figure comes with a sun-shaped firecracker.

In one of the recent interviews, JJ called the First Order a "military junta" which means it was taken over by force. Chances are Hux and Phasma allied with the Knights or Ren to unify the Imperial remnants into the First Order.

I think the command structure goes like this

Snoke
Kylo/Hux - I base this on the fact that both are able to get in contact with Snoke when the situation calls for it. Such as near the end of the film when Hux contacts him to report that they have failed.

Yes yes Bill we get it, Hux is a horrible human being. Just tell us on a scale of 1 to 10 how painful his death will be And whether or not Kylo and Phasma will have a party afterwards because of it
