What do you guys know about that scene? Is there somewhere a video about that deleted sequence? Is there any promise it will be released one day as an extra? Is there really a sequence shot, or just some pictures?
As far as I remember it was shot as a backup in case the CGI Yoda fight didn't work out and had to be discarded.
The scene is during his fight with Yoda, in which Yoda disarms him. I think it's also included in the graphic novel adaption.
Yeah... That is part of the fight against Yoda... Dooku broke the green saber, and then he broke Anakin... I wonder if Yoda broke the blue saber before Dooku quit the fight.... dunno....
Thanks for posting this, looks like it would have been glorious to watch. Shame we never got to see it. Perhaps this is one of those extras that will be released whenever they repackage the films. And I second the
Yes. What happened was the duel was originally longer. A sequence cut out was that after the duel between Yoda and Dooku starts, the latter summons the fallen Lightsaber that Anakin and Obi-wan had used, and uses it against Yoda who winds up disarming Dooku in a similar fashion earlier in the duel with Anakin. Dooku then resumes fighting with just one saber until they both stop and Yoda compliments Dooku on his skills.
I would love to see an extended cut of AOTC. It's already my favorite of the saga, but there's some additions that could definitely improve the film from not only a character development angle, but from an action one as well.
Well, to be fair, if you weren't on a message board back when the movie was being made and when it was released, and never read the adaptations, then you wouldn't know about it.
Nope. The trailer footage for the PT all featured finished shots that were in the final film, save for Vader's appearance in the first trailer for ROTS. In that trailer, his arms were up and not down. CGI altered this. The only other footage was the material from ANH that was used in the same trailer, that used a different take of Obi-wan telling Luke about Vader, which was not used in the actual film.
