Double-bladed or single bladed saber better?

I have been debating this for a while. Both have advantages and disadvantages, and this is different than sword vs. bo staff for any of you who have martial arts experience. The nature of the weapon gives it specific properties, such as near weightlessness, and the ability to cut through their own handles. Plus, you couldn't move your hands to one end of the double(like with a bo staff), the handle being in the middle. The double can attack in faster succession, but you'd have to watch that the long handle doesn't get sliced. Using a single against it, you'd have to go on the defense until you could work your way in between the attacks to get to the handle, the easiest target. The skill of each user would be the most important factor in the fight, but if both opponents are of equal skill, do you think either weapon is slightly better than the other?
The double-bladed is slightly better for fighting multiple adversaries, but in a one on one, which is better?

Single blade is better, in my opinion.

 

Single blade is classier. I also prefer watching the techniques involved in a single saber duel.

Single bladed lightsaber is way cooler! Especially with a green blade!

 

Single bladed is better. Visually the uniqueness of Darth Maul's saber is great and very cool but it's just nice as a one off that is associated with Darth Maul's character.
