They ran out and rented The Abyss 5 minutes beforehand. So, yes, there's some flexibility there. Don't wanna speak for Teague, but I'd say request away. They can ignore it if they want, anyway.

lol. "Well, I don't actually read the Bible, but it sure looks nice on my coffee table."

//not meant to start a debate. settle.

And on-topic, I'm still waiting for Spider-Man. I'd ask for Daredevil: Director's Cut, but I'd probably end up hating all of you.

Finally watched your Hook. Pretty good. Everybody brought up some cool points and info.
I'll have to check out the Down in Front forums.
My only suggestion, if I may, is it goes much better when you guys view the film before hand, as a lot of the Hook commentary was really off track and distracting as nobody seemed to remember to much about it. Just wish it were more on topic, but still kinda fun.

My vote goes for Paths of Glory...that'd be interesting.
Hey, if the goal is to get people to watch older films...

To me, that seems like a movie which would split opinions sharply. I hated that movie, it made me so mad, but I can see that someone could love it for the same same reason.

Guys, I loved, loved, loved the Abyss commentary. The Abyss was already in my top films ever list, but for people who may not have "noticed" the flick I hope this pushes it into their top lists.

I find it humorous, though, that Fig goes from "Yeah I've seen this movie many times" to "holy crap I never saw that" to "wow, this was like the first time for me as well" :)

Now if you are taking requests, I really love for you to do another of my fav movies, which should be right up Trey's alley: The Dark Crystal!

    /Z

    No, your not.

However, I do like to hear the beefs people have. Sadly, I can't listen to this all the way through, mainly because it seems like you guys yell over each other and the entire thing is made up of sarcastic remarks. While I enjoy it in short burst, I can't take it for two and a half hours. There is far too much making fun of Star Wars, and yes, I understand your arguments, but the conversation is entirely one sided. It might have been more interesting or entertaining if you got a guy with opposing views. Spice it up a bit.

    Props for doing it though.

I've only listened to TPM, The Matrix, and now AOTC, so maybe I just haven't listened.

How did you feel about the TPM commentary? I was a fan of that going in.

And yeah, this episode is, truthfully, a watered down (or, rather, drunk up) sarcasm-filled rampage against AOTC - but that's not usually how it goes, and I certainly don't feel that's the case with TPM or The Matrix. (Or, really, any other commentary we've done.) As Trey has said, "we tend to orbit between mockery, insider info, and actual critique. Episodes seem to lean strongly on one of the three, in rotation."

This just happens to be a movie none of us liked - which is unusual, as we try to stay away from that format so as to not pale in comparison to MST3k and Rifftrax. If you prefer more thoughtful critques and insider info, you might really enjoy The Abyss, Star Trek VI, or Starship Troopers commentaries. (And I think you'll really enjoy the next two episodes coming down the pike: The Mist, and The Matrix: Reloaded.)

    Thanks for listening anyway, sir.
