Judging from the way "Luke" looks like now, I'm speculating that he first ignites his lightsaber in Dex's diner.

OK, OK, my bad. I had to throw that jab out there to Mr. Hamill. Great thread Hellhammer.

No, but it does come in a blue, milky variety that is quite soothing. ;)

You, Sir, deserve my appreciation. *hats off*

You know, the thing that calmed my inner fangirl happened at Celebration II earlier this year. I have been to many panel discussions, and enjoyed the one with Kathy Kennedy and Dave Filoni the most (OK, Mark and Carrie were a treat, too, but not related to this topic :) ). I loved how Dave tried to tell us wholeheartedly, without giving away anything (and getting himself into trouble) that we should not worry because the films are in the best hands possible.

Almost all of the OP are things I've thought and wondered.

The events in the SW universe since approximately my join date on this site (no, not a coincidence) are SUCH a tremendous gift for SW fans.

I also morbidly thought there would never be another SW movie (what a huge disappointment it was, George was even saying there would not be another one), and am absolutely beyond thrilled and full of awe at what has transpired (getting new movies and spinoffs, the Big 3, JJ, Arndt, Disney, George's story being used, on and on). In my sense of pop culture taste, this is almost like finding out that Jimi Hendrix is actually alive, and is coming out of hiding to release a new album; it is just about on that level.

How someone who calls themselves a SW fan could make something negative out of all of this it just beyond me; that is the pinnacle of neurosis and bizarre contradiction.

I think this is a noble thread. A lot of fans are extremely to quick to dismiss concepts, and they forget that execution actually matters more. Every good concept can be ruined by the execution, while a mediocre concept can be saved by it.

But anyway, when they announce the first casting news (other than Luke, Han and Leia), a lot of fans will just fall apart. They will start sobbing and punching on their keyboards, then they'll be writing venomous comments on IGN.com about the casting and lens flares.

    Mark my words.

This is exactly my view on this whole situation. I was so glad to hear that there were going to be new SW movies. I just wish we could get real confirmation on the big 3. Once/if that happens I will be able to calm down. Lol

    ^^^THIS.
Hello all. Longtime lurker-turned-member chiming in. Although its highly expected (like probably 97+%) that the big 3 will return for at least some meaningful cameo time, how would you feel if one or more them didn't actually return? What do you think the general response would be from fan community at large or does it even really matter?

    LOL, really.

Like, despite the slim odds, the sky COULD fall in tomorrow, so let's get into a bunch of melodramatic, negative "what if's?" and get all depressed and upset. How about an alien invasion? Let's get negative about life and worry about that, it COULD happen you know.....

By this time next year we'll all look back at these threads and laugh while obsessing over leaked photos.

That's probably the best part in the whole process of anticipating the new movies and series.

It would definitely be original if the main character was a cowboy skeleton.

No I mean the main character won't move at all, and the camera will focus on him/her/it for 2 hours.

The kids would just say The Duke's acting was "wooden".
