Not bad. Could've done without the Graham Norton interruption at the start, though.

How did all the dummies have in-built guns?

I liked it, pretty funny too, like tom baker was.

    Favorite bit:

'if your an alien, how come u sound like your from the north?'

'lots of planets have a north'

I liked the new TARDIS interior
I was a little disappointed that they changed the "Dr Who" title font, but that is to be expected when modernising a series.

Eccleston was very funny, and didn't take himself too seriously, which I like.
    His new style suits him

I'm just sad I have to wait until episode 6 till the Daleks arrive

the Autons were moulded inplaistic... they fire PLASTIC BULLETS .

what teh ehll was with graham nortons intereuption. that annoyed me and my cousin.

    -------------

My thoughts on teh new episode as a big Dr.Who fan:

Very positive start. I liked how different the approach to an assistant was, instead of teh assistant stumbling into the tardis, he pretty much looked for Qualities in Rose. which also reminds me, Rose was likeable.

it had a fast start.. which was strange but good IN my opinion ( my cousin didnt like teh beggiining but loved it when the Doctor came into play). Russle TR davis Dialouge was an improvment on "second coming" and " Queer as Folk" (as my cousin tells me)..

For a fan like Russle t davis ( aparently) he missed a lot of chances to refer back to teh Older doctors, IMO.

also, even this new series has the feeling that it doesnt take itself too seriously. that is important

I very much liked this beggining, one thing that made me laugh was when the doctor held Rose's boyfriends head, the head spoke/threatened him, the doctor had a huge grin on his face.. as if amused by the head [face_laugh].

also, the preview to the next weeks episode was geek-tastic:-B

I thought they did a good job. They hit the balance between excitment and tackyness in both set and storyline. The Doctor was good, and Billie Piper can actually act. It definitely had one eye on reintroducing the whole Doctor Who concept to a 'new' audience, so maybe the plot suffered a little... but overall a good job and i look forward to next week. :)

Can't really fault it for re-introducing the concept at the expense of references to past Doctors (he did have a sonic screwdriver!), although I'd have liked to have seen some of the other Doctors on those photos.

but one thing remains... dr Who is back on telly!

I just hope they don't do a "marvel" and ignore what came before... I few nods to teh series' past would go down a treat with fans

If it was one of the old doctors then he wouldn't have recognised him!

What is this interruption by Norton everyone is talking of?
I didn't see Graham Norton after the end of his show

I don't remember that weird blob thing being in the old Auton episodes
Does anyone remember if it was?

    Richie:
when Rose walks into the storeroom with all the unnoticed autons , you could hear clapping and graham nortons voice for less than a second. but on two seperate occasions.
I hoesntly thought when i heard the clapping someone threa Rose a suprise party [face_laugh]

I realise that about not recognising him, just thought they could've said something about how there were 'others' who were known as "The Doctor" throughout history.

Anyway, I liked that they kept the Tardis dematerialisation sound the same, but with an extra echo effect at the end (I think).

EDIT: I also distinctly heard Graham Norton say "Am I down there, then?" or something like that (so it wasn't that distinct!).

I always think it sounds like a whale at the end

I thought that background noise was part of the episode

[face_laugh] I heard that now I think about it. But I thought it was just part of the show, I didn't recognise Norton's voice.
