Spring, MO Dragoncon 2007

I believe all the rooms have irons. I used one last year and I believe it was the hotels.

As excited as I am for DragonCon almost being here, I am so not ready for it yet. I'm just glad I have a week left!!!

 

Are we going to try and do a group meeting while at dragoncon? Amy suggested meeting on Friday night (she wont get in until Friday) christina and I are doing escort duty at 7pm, so we could meet up with folks after 8:30pm.

 

We must meet up!

 

Okay...so I finally get around to watching all the Firefly episodes (thanks Jon!) and then Adam Baldwin cancels. Pfft.

 

Late Friday would be good. B and I are going to the Mandalorian Mercs dinner at 7 pm....so 9-ish??

I should be able to do a later Friday meet-up. Around 9ish should work for me.

 

OK, lets try and meet up at 9pm, our room (amy, leash, laura and christina), just call one of our cell phones, we will give you are room number, we can hang out and then go from there.

Wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Yep I am way excited! Oh, I just found out the gal that works in the same office as me, has one of those hardcase golfbag cases---she is gonna let me borrow it, so now I get to bring my Master Replecia lightsaber.

Brandon picked up a hard-sided fishing rod carrier at Bass Pro Shop for just that reason. It'll probably hold 6 or 8 sabers.

 

Oh, and my Biker Scout parts that I was waiting on finally came in today, but I still don't think I'm bringing it to D*Con. I just don't have enough time to pull it all together before then. Oh well!

 

Someone on the D*C LJ posted this link for a packing list. Kind of useful...and funny.

 

So Aaron Allston cancelled? I also noticed that Sean Astin's name isn't on the cancellation list, nor is it above. It's as if he never existed. (Muwahahahahaha...it's a cover up...some sort of Dragon*Con scandal!)

On a different note, I NEED MORE TIME!!!! Having to cut a few corners on getting my newest outfit wearable in time to leave in oh.... 2 days!!

 

So last night I was painting Shaak Ti (headpiece) and decided I needed to figure out how to attach the tails. Well I went to try it on and it didn't fit. Ugh!!!!!!!!! I guess after two layers of strip paper mache', some pulp paper mache' and some spackling it took away the room I needed. I had to cut it down....again and then try to put some more paper mache' on it. It was not dry this A.M., but I set it in front of the fan, so let's hope it is dry tonight. I will finish painting it at the hotel at Dragoncon if I have too!!!!!!!!

 

Hopefully you'll get it dry in time. I know I still need to highlight my newest costume. I hope it will dry tonight (which means I need to start it ASAP) so I can do any final mods tomorrow night before packing it.....

 

LOl, yep this is all part of the dragoncon experience, sitting in the hotel room and sewing or making ajustments/fixing things. Yippie only two more days and then we fly........

 

Oh good luck Leash and Tony! Laura is right, it is part of the whole D*C experience. LOL

 

On a good note, Jeremy took me to get my face paint at lunch. So at least I have red and white face paint. Yay!
