Just a friendly reminder, leave your lighters at home. Also make sure you bring a small umbrella. I decided to bring the rainy Wisconsin weather with me, so expect to have thunderstorms all weekend while in Atlanta.

Guess what I get to do tomorrow? Go and get a new state I.D. Since I don't drive, I don't worry about it and mine is expired. I don't want to risk not getting on the plane. Ugh!!! Will it never end?!

What's your new costume?? Or is it a big secret? :)

I've got some finishing touches to do...finish snaps on B's officer, redo the velcro on one of his belts (since he lost so much weight!!!), and figure out how to hang my lightsaber hilt on one of my costumes. No sweat.

Time for another of Leash's play by play......

My dremel is now broken. It broke while sanding my Shaak Ti head that still does not fit right as now I took too much off the sides near my face. I don't know if I want to cry or scream! :_|

I would go with cry & scream Leash.

Putting the final mods/finishing touches on the Viper Flightsuit from the new Battlestar Galactica. I had a breakthrough last night and got quite a bit finished. Was able to get to the point of putting the highlighting coat over the entire thing LATE last night. At this rate, I'm just glad DragonCon is here so I can stop worrying about getting stuff finished for it!! All I have to do tonight is make (Isn't it awfully late to still be making props?!?) some dogtags and cut out part of the inner liner to make a new set of wrist cuffs.

    Arghhh!!!

I'm going to explode before I get home from work this afternoon. Has time just stopped? I want to finish the suit so I can pack!!!

On that note, Everyone might want to set any rechargeable batteries for cameras and such up to charge. I have one set running last night (and all day today because they were not done when I left for work) and a second set tonight.

Leash, I found this when I downloaded my boarding pass.
    "Positive identification for travel:
For your safety Delta requires that all passengers 18 years of age and older present positive identification for travel. Acceptable forms of positive identification are either: one form of valid photo ID issued by a Federal, State, or Local Government Agency; or two forms of non-photo identification, one of which must be issued by a Federal, State, or Local Government Agency. Passenger without identification may be denied transportation." So worse case, bring your SS card and birth certificate.

Another play by play from Leash.....

So I went to go get my state I.D and my copy of my birth certificate had no seal on it, so I didn't get one then. Called mom and thankfully she has the original with the seal and is on her way now to take me to get my state I.D. Yay!

I finished the paper mache' last night it was dry and I was able to fix the dremel (cord came unraveled) and sand and then spackle. Spackle should dry in no time and then to paint. I unfortunately had to take off from work to do the whole I.D. thing. I thought it would only take a couple of hours this morning, but now I can finish my costumes, pack like I am supposed to instead of throwing it all in a bag and actually get some sleep tonight if that is at all possible.

    [face_dancing]

It's all good and tomorrow we leave! Yay!!!!!

Have fun guys and be safe! I always get a little jealous when you guys are heading out.

I'm really wanting to make it to one of these cons or Celebrations. It's my own fault for missing them and I've only get myself to blame :)

    There's always next year right?!?

Tim, if you do go next year, you may have a built in baby sitter. We are actually thinking about doing next year as a family. The kids are all into ghost hunter, eureka, who wants to be a super hero, etc. and they think they would enjoy trying something like that (dragoncon). So if you go and we go with the kids, we would just have alicia (who would be 16, almost 17 watch you child.) I would be afraid to let them loose at night at dragoncon, they might get more of an education than I want. :p
Have a great labor day weekend.

Anyways, off to bed, then flying tomorrow!!!!!

    See you all there.

Hope everyone made it home safe! I had a great time and it was great fun seeing everyone. I am a little bummed about my makeup fiasco, but I have learned some valuable lessons and next year will be even better. Yay!

I am still living in Dragoncon time. It's like my body and mind just can't catchup yet or slow down. LOL!

Brandon and Susan you are both in trouble since I only saw you two twice and both times it was only for a second!

Ahahahahahahahaha! Well, she's right...you did do a great job. Look at what you had to work with! And if you say yes for next year, I'm driving up there to smack some sense into you. LOL! I think you could just volunteer to escort a couple of times and still meet the celebs you want to without all the hassle.

Everyday life seems so mundane now. Wait, it did before, but now it seems worse.
