Forgot to mention this, but when I was in LA, I picked up one of those free magazines on the sidewalk (no, not those! ) called "La Brea Living" and it has a cover story on the FIDM exhibit. It has Anakin & Vader on the cover and is the Sept. 2005 issue. There may be some still around. Cool collectible.

    salutations...im a newbie here. names jhon...aka TEMPLAR...better known as TI-7091.

i was at the exhibit on saturday, 24 Sept, at 10am. wicked exhibit...i must say. tickets are $5 to $7 dependin on how u purchase them.

i must say lighting is an issue with the exhibit. and definitely true when u go into the DARKSIDE area...its quite dark to take a decent picture of any of the costumes.

nice shots of jango n boba fetts...n i wish the TIE pilot helmet was in better lighting...but i got some kewl shots.

the security guards were kewl...though i kept hearing..."no flash...no flash" like every 10 minutes. the funny "no flash" rule was outside the exhibit with mock x-wing fighter. i don't understand that rule...outside...granted it...the fighter was under a covered patio area...but come on...its outside.

Jhon (TI-7091)...TIE PILOTS RULE THE SKY!!!

OK, I've finally had some time to update this....

How about 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 15? We have to get there a half an hour early, as everyone knows.

I show the following people who originally wanted tickets:

    VK - 1
    DB - 4
    JB - 4
    JV - 1
    JR - 2
    Sara - 1
    DH - 3
    SK - 1
    JD - 1
    NP - 1
    IH - 1
    CB - 6
    AS - 1
    Ash - 1

There are currently 70 tickets available, so we should be OK.

Let me know if I should make changes to this list, i.e., you can't go anymore, you need more tickets, or you've just seen this thread and you want to go with us!

VK, I think Mr. DH and the padawan won't be able to attend after all so JJ and JG can have my extra two. Unless you have already ordered them then I will eat the extra tickets (or find someone to take them). Thanks VK!

Yeah, I messed up the initials. So, looks like the list looks like this:

    VK - 1
    DB - 4
    JB - 2
    JV - 1
    JR - 2
    Sara - 1
    DH - 3
    SR - 1
    JD - 1
    NP - 1
    IH - 1
    CB - 6
    AS - 1
    Ash - 1

So, that's a total of 26 tickets. Anybody else? Going, going...

Woo hoo, Nala! Plus I've heard from another "newbie," so I'll be adding that person to the list, too. And Imperial_Hammer can't go, unfortunately, so the list looks like this:

    VK - 1
    DB - 4
    JB - 2
    JV - 1
    JR - 2
    Sara - 1
    DH - 3
    SR - 1
    JD - 1
    NP - 1
    CB - 6
    AS - 1
    Ash - 1
    JJ - 2
    NA - 2
    TM - 1

OK, I'm buying 30 tickets, for 10:00 AM on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15 (we'll be the first group in). You need to be there 30 minutes in advance.

You'all can pay me that day, no problem.

OK, tickets are purchased, I put them in the name of "Los Angeles Fan Force." I will print them all out and bring them with me, as everyone needs to have a separate ticket.

OOps, what I meant to say, Damn not being able to be disciplined with my time

Ok, I was confused about the parking and e-mail the contact dude at FIDM. Here is what he wrote to me:

    Valerie,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

We are located on the ground floor of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, a private college. Most of the time our single parking garage is full by 8:00 AM. On our website (www.starwars.fidm.edu), there is a map with the locations of other parking lots around our building. The map is on the tab that says "Museum Info," then click on #3, Directions. I am not sure of how much they charge, but I think they charge somewhere between $5.00 and $10.00.

Most of you already knew that, but I didn't so just in case there were other people like me who didn't know either :)

I'm not sure what I'm going to do about parking either. Usually, JR and I walk (or take the Dash) from our building so parking is already taken care of. I suppose we could park at Macy's Plaza.

What about lunch ideas? Any preferences?

The FIDM garage is only $3 on weekends; that would be the place to start, I think. There is a big parking lot on the corner of Olympic and Grand (turn right onto Grand, you will see it ahead of you on the left hand side) that is $4 during the week, don't know if there is a price change during the weekend.

As far as lunch goes, there's an IHOP on Flower at the Macy's Plaza. For you downtown worker types -- Would this be OK? Would we have to drive or could we walk?

And finally -- is anyone going in costume? I have what might be considered a "Republic Senator" costume, but I would feel stupid wearing it if I was the only one!

I had to think about it for a while because the IHOP is near the 7th Street Market Place, I think. Any way, there is a food court at the 7th St. MP so that is also an option.

Thanks for the parking info, VK. As for costumes, since I no longer have my hair I would feel weird in my Leia outfits so I will probably just wear a Star Wars tee and jeans.
