Memph, TN drive in night

can anybody tell me when exactly the drive in night will be and what movie will we probably watch

 

Here's the schedule:

August 28th: The Phantom Menace

September 11th: Attack of the Clones

September 24th: A New Hope
with the Star Wars documentary
"Empire of Dreams"

Septemeber 25th: Double Feature!
The Empire Strikes Back
and
Return of the Jedi

October 9th: Double Feature!
Ghostbusters
and
Sleepy Hollow

All movies will start at dusk. Stay tuned to the boards for information on any pre-movie activities.

 

We're doing the Revenge of the Sith preview with Empire of Dreams (basically the whole bonus disc) before ANH, right? We can't miss the "Making Of Vader" stuff!!!

 

I'm just hoping this weather will hold out a few more weeks!

That's what I'm watching first. And it has nothing to do with the shackles whatsoever.....

 

Well, we'll be watching about two hours of the bonus disc. I'm putting Traci and Rhonda in charge of deciding which two hours we'll watch.

(i.e.- Get ready to be Vaderized! )

 

That means we are watching the Revenge of the Sith previews (which includes "Making of Darth Vader") for sure, I don't know what Empire of Dreams is about. If its a bunch of puppets like SW to Jedi...I'll pass.

 

I'll have to change the website and the upcoming announcement.

 

I think we'll have enough time for the whole disk if we start at 7:30 or so. We just need to get it in our heads to have everything finished at 6pm or so. I'll help. Who else???

I'm sure we would be able to get started at 7:30 pm, or maybe even at 7 pm, considering that it's 7:45 now and it's dark enough to start a movie outside.

Thanks to the improvements in the sound setup, we're getting better at getting things going. It shouldn't be a problem if we start at 3 pm.

I'm really shooting for a "Classic Trilogy Luau", so we'd have to set up earlier anyway.

 

Do we need to start making a list of things to bring, or is it a 'fend for yourself/BYOB/you kill it we grill it' kind of night?

 

I am really going to have to make an effort to be at the ones where you show the trilogy.

I'll be working at the haunt that morning/afternoon. Todd will be in town. I'll see if I can't get him(and family if they come, too) and Pat and Jen to come out for it. They haven't been to one yet- just the couple we had at the haunt.

Rhonda has gotten all Dark Side on us. I'm starting to think you fellas kinda like it.

Vader may not be the only one in shackles when this is over.

Well, if the weather holds for this weekend and my streak of luck for Drive-In nights continues, we could cook out. We could start the movie around 7:45 or 8 pm, with a potluck cookout beforehand.

I was thinking I could fire up the grill and we could do the bring-you-own-meat thing. (Shut up, Jay! ) Then we could do a few simple side dishes and be done with it.

Or-

We could get a picnic pack from Tops Barbeque or something like that and all pitch in to cover the expense, kinda like what we did with the pizza at one of the previous Drive-In nights.


Ideas or suggestions, anyone?

 

Tim, I know you mentioned it before but for us techno gunkies, can you describe just what the heck you use for a projector/screen TimHX sound etc?!?!? How can you get such good quality? youmust have some pro stuff right?

TimHX is really cool. One of us holds a flashlight behind the film, and then another one of us pulls the film in front of it really really fast. THEN we pass out the scripts and parts to folks who show up. Music is the hardest part of all because only one of us plays anything, and it's a oboe.

 

Questions....So many questions.......no more questions....just relax and enjoy....and have faith!! It's all good stuff and prepared perfectly...well almost !!!

Joey: We have a digital projector and a couple of digital surround sound systems we use. Nothing too high tech, but it more than serves its intended purpose and works beautifully. TIMAX and TimHX are just names that Lin came up with as a joke, but I liked them so much I went with it and started using them.

Just think of it like having a really, really big screen TV that won't fit in your living room, so you moved it into your backyard.

 

TiMax is actually parrt due to the super duper projection of RhoMax digital projection, Joey! Its state of the art high definition projection!

 

Yes, TIMAX would be impossible without RhoMax. Without the RhoMax projection system, we'd be sitting around a 36" TV, and it wouldn't be at all the same. We'd still have the sound, but we wouldn't have the 24' wide screen.

All hail RhoMax!
