Well, with two successful Drive-In Nights under our belt, we need to finalize our schedule. I have all of the dates picked, and most of the films. (We need to make a decision on one of the spots.)

Saturday, June 4th: The Empire Strikes Back

Saturday, June 25th: Return of the Jedi

    Saturday, July 30th: Spaceballs

    Saturday, August 27th: The Incredibles

Saturday, September 24th: Raiders of the Lost Ark

Saturday, October 22nd: The Phantom of the Opera (and the SMT Masquerade Ball!)

And, of course, the Saga Campout in November. (Date depending on the ROTS DVD Release.)

I need suggestions for a film to fill the September slot. Also, I'm not planning on any of these to include any cookouts or potluck dinners with the exception of October's Masquerade Ball. (Right now, I like the way things are working out with having folks fend for themselves. To be honest, it make Drive-In Nights a hell of a lot less complicated for me, and cheaper on everyone. And with films not starting until 8:30 pm, it's past dinner time anyway.)

How about Team America: World Police !!! Just kidding....

Raiders of the Lost Ark is my vote for the open drive in.

I thought about Raiders, too, Dale.

(And I finally saw Team America last night. I don't think we can show that one. :p )

Or we could go way out in left field and show "Dr. Strangelove or How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb" since it has a very young lord vader (James Earl Jones) in it or Eddie Izzard: Dressed to Kill!

I'd love to show Izzard's "Dress to Kill", but the language makes it a no-no. (That, and it's 4:3 format. I hate it when I can't use the whole screen. Call me kooky.)

I love Dr. Strangelove. Anything with Peter Sellers or Mel Brooks is great. Too bad they didn't do anything together.

If not just for the gratuitous barfing scene. [face_sick]

Tim, check the date for the September show. That is a Friday night.

I vote for National Treasure. Its a great movie, and you just might learn something, too.

Raiders would be on my list, as well as...

'Ghostbusters' (unless we did that last year)

    'Batman' ('89 Keaton)

    'Iron Giant'

    'Superman'

    'Flash Gordon' (80's)

or one of the Harry Potter flicks.

Please don't expose us to any more bad acting.

I like the Harry Potter idea also.

In addition to all of Lin's suggestions -

    "X-Men" (1 or 2)

    "Spider-Man" (1 or 2)

    "Galaxy Quest"

"The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension"

    "Big Trouble in Little China"

"Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow"

    "Van Helsing"

"Lilo & Stitch" - Aliens & Elvis, Baby!

    "Comic Book - The Movie!"

and as for Izzard, "Glorious" has the bleeped audio soundtrack, so even Jacob can appreciate him all of his cross-dressing glory.

harry potter movies are heresy, if you ask me. they're cool but it pains me to leave so much out of the books... if we watch a harry potter i vote for the sorcerer's stone or the chamber of secrets... i couldn't stand how much prisoner of azkaban left out.

    Book comes out in July.

    Movie comes out in Nov.

I know what you mean Elliott. I am so afraid Goblet of Fire will only be about half the book (and not the good half). Its my favorite and I cant wait to see the movie, even if its not all there.

I'll let everyone else fight it out about which movie to watch. We'll be there no matter what.

What about Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon, or maybe Karate Kid Part III, or even a Short Circuit marathon. "My name is B-E-N. I spell it Ben."

Well, it'll be a moot point if we get rained out this weekend, which is looking likely. I was originally doing this Saturday's showing for the Arkansas people who were supposed to be coming in to see EIII in digital, but it doesn't look like any of them will make it. Nevertheless, I'm not cancelling it.

If we do get rained out, I'll push ESB back to the end of June, and then shift all of the other films back a month. There's no possibility of rain date for this showing with my schedule, so this is what will work best for me.

And if we do have to fill September's slot, we'll show Raiders of the Lost Ark. With the recent approval of the Indy 4 script, its association with Lucas, and since it hasn't been on the big screen in over 20 years, I think it would be a good choice. (And it's in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio: the same as the SW films.)

I vote for one of the Lord of the Rings movies! Or how about all of them! Ok maybe not all of them... I liked Joes picks of X-Men 2, Spiderman 2, and Van Helsing. Lins picks of Batman or Superman are also great! The Clone Wars cartoons are also a possibility. Out in left field there is also Cosmic Voyage: IMAX

If not I'm down with some Dolemite and the Human Tornando with Dale.

Ok, I haven't been around long on this board but hearing Action Jackson as a choice made me thing that isn't the best for a Carl Weathers flick. If anything pick Predator or Rocky. Just my 2 cents
