Droids in the Cantina not liked. Why?

In ANH, the bartender says "We don't like your kind." or something to 3PO and R2. Why does he say that? I never got it.

 

I think because they aren't paying customers since they don't eat or drink. They just take-up space. It would be like bikers taking their motorcycles into a bar with them. "Hey, ya wanna move that motorcycle outside? It's crowding out people who want to buy a drink!"

 

The owner hates and/or fears Droids, the story is in the Tales of Mos Eisley book, but I haven't finished that tale yet so I can't elaborate.

Ask Bib, he probably knows.

 

No probably about it. Heck, I'd almost wager he know's the colour of the bartender's underwear at the time in ANH!

 

No he doesn't, because the bartender wasn't wearing any that day as told in Tales of Mos Eisley's Cantina's Bartender's Apartment Complex.

Droids were looked down upon in the Star Wars Universe.

 

They take up space that could be occupied by paying customers.

 

Droids killed his family.

 

Maybe he was dating a droid and she broke up with him.

 

Xizor's droid sounds hot.

 

Heh, those droids take up space. That's a good reason not to want them in a money making environment.

 

I'd definitely tell Xizor's droid to reach in my pants and find the Force...but that's me.

 

Droids don't buy drinks.

 

C-3PO was so shiny and reflective and mirror-like...

I bet most of the clients there would get scared and leave if they looked into him.
