Here are some notes from my World mythology class on R2 & 3P0...please add your comments The Droids are Sliver and Gold - symbolizing the presious metals They are humanistic C3PO is motherly R2D2 is child-like "The child will lead you"
I'd say R2 is rather genius for the fact that he can adapt and has sure saved alot of peoples butts. As for 3P0, he's a whiner like his creator and the creators son. Again, not really related to mythology, but it's just my point of view about the characters.
As much as I've watched ROTS,I still get a chuckle from the R2 bits at the beginning when they're on Grievous' ship. As for Threepio,it's not uncommon that an object would represent some aspect of its creator so maybe he embodies some of Anakin's insecurities.Then again,so does Vader. I always thought it was interesting that Anakin and Padme own the droids separately,but when they fall into Luke's possession,he gets both of them.Not really important,just an observation.
