Under 2 minutes on the countdown!
Up, up and away!
So if he does jump it's in a few hours?
Sounds like they're saying about 12:30 central time for the actual jump.
Watching as Baumgartner passes 97,500 feet, getting close to the altitude of his last jump.
Coming up on Kittinger's record jump altitude.
He just broke the record for highest altitude for a manned balloon flight. At about 114,000 feet.
He's 23 miles high now.
They're de-pressurizing the suit.
Pretty much preparing everything right now, going through the checklist.
Getting ready to go ... Wow look at that view!
He has just jumped!
Controlled descent, seems to be OK right now.
This is crazy! HOLY SMOKE!
Chute's deployed. Almost on the ground now.
He was in a spin for several seconds, managed to catch himself. That was a bit too scary.
I don't even care about the NFL games right now. This is so much more exciting.
It doesn't seems like that he managed to break the sound barrier....
Good to see him land safely!
I hope his first words when he got on the ground were "Don't be afraid, I am a Soviet like you, who has descended from space and I must find a telephone to call Moscow!"
That spin was very scary.
Good for him.
Not sure about sound barrier, he definitely did not get the fourth record for longest freefall, pulled the cord too soon. The spin must have scared him too.
I'm glad he's down OK. I pretty much missed it as I was watching something else. (Hopefully he had a spare set of underwear in his kit - I imagine he might need it!)
