Dude the weirdest thing just happened to me

I was playing GTAIII, of course, what else would I be doing, homework? Anyway, a while back when Ray gave me is bullet-proof Patriot I stored it in my garage in Staunton Island because my friend told me that it helps a lot on the final mission. Now I'm almost to the end and I went back to my garage and it's gone!!

I never drove it once, just left it there and now it's gone! It was there the last time I checked about 2 missions ago! Does anyone know what happened and how I can get it back? any help would be appreciated.

Also...a little bird told me that if you complete 100% of the game that a new Island will unlock. I thought that maybe thats what the deal is with the incomplete Porter Tunnel project. Is this true?

 

There may already be a thread for this, but I'll answer anyway. I hate to tell you this, but you've discovered one of GTA3's most annoying bugs. Cars (especially rare ones) have a tendency to disappear from your garages for no apparent reason. This bug also carried over to GTA:VC. There isn't any way to fix it. If you're really worried about keeping your rare vehicles, just make a number of backup save files.

And there is no secret island in the game, although if you're good with the Dodo (or a tank with the flying cars code) you can get to a strange, floating city. It's actually the area around the bank in the beginning intro sequence, and that's literally all there is to it. As far as I know, getting 100% in GTA3 doesn't net you any rewards. GTA:VC is another matter entirely, though.
