LOL, wow. Bringing back the memories of dunking my peanut butter toast in my coffee because that's what my dad would do. Over the years, I believe he switched to crackers with butter and/or jelly. I tried that once, but yeah, I haven't done that in years or even thought about it. I guess dunking toast is going to die with the baby boomers.

I actually wasn't aware of such a disgusting practice until I saw this thread.

 

is this something that millennials do? I've never seen anyone my age or older do it. My grandfather liked to salt fresh watermelon, but that was the oddest thing I ever saw him do.

 

How is salting watermelon odd? Is it also odd to greet people you know in the street? Is it odd to be awake when the sun is in the sky?

I literally do not know any human beings that consider salt on watermelon anything other than standard practice. Are you even being serious right now?

 

I've also never heard of salt on watermelons. That sounds....very weird. Then again, I don't really eat watermelons so what do I know.

Adding salt to watermelon is not very humble, it betrays a desire for sensual pleasures. You wouldn't add sugar to oatmeal or cereal, would you? Of course not. Oatmeal is perfect as it is, as is watermelon.

I am ashamed to admit that several members of my family do put salt on watermelon. Unfortunately, it is a thing.
