What are some words or phrases that are commonly used, on the Internet and in RL, that just really, really annoy you to death?

For me, it'd have to be the over-used and overrated expression "meh". It's akin to typing, or saying, "I'm too lazy to explain the reason why I don't like this, but I don't hate it, and I don't care. So whatever."

I'm of the mind that if you're gonna have an opinion about something, you might as well explain it.

What about you guys? Words or phrases you don't care for?

Long abbreviations that people assume you understand what they mean, or else you're not really a part of the forum.

[face_laugh] Great thread! Yeah, I have to agree with Obi Anne, sometimes I just get lost with all the abbreviations, I have no idea what people are talking about.

Needless 'like's in sentences and saying 'yeah' instead of 'yes' both annoy me.

Of course, I say these things all the time, so I just end up frustrated with myself. :p

    Nice thread! :D

Although I thought about your question for some minutes, I can't find any right now. But I agree with Johanna above. Abbreviations that make you being part of a group or showing that you're not are annoying (sometimes).

    NIAWYC.

And as for the "likes," I can't help it! It's just become a way of speaking down here.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Although I see less and less of those, it's kind of rude when it's done deliberately.

I hate when people use "like" in their sentences where it doesn't belong. It frustrates me.

    But the worst EVER?
Internet talk in real life. [face_plain]

Seriously, what the hell? So instead of actually laughing, people go ahead and say LOL.
    It doesn't make sense.
It's stupid and senseless and just annoys the crap out of me.

And they spell it out sometimes, too!
    It's insane!

See how this ticks me off? :p

My roommates and I say "brb" and "bbl" to each other. Except they sound like "burb" and "bibble."

People who butcher the English language on purpose when they post because they think it's funny or because they're too lazy, like a certain user with a Mon Calamari avatar and a username that rhymes with Plo Koon.

The only phrase that really annoys me is, "that's what she said!" after any innocuous statement that might have some ambiguous sexual meaning.

[face_laugh] You would not have wanted to be in the car with my sister, my mom, and myself last weekend when we went on a business trip/vacation. My mom and sister used it way too many times.
