Just an idea I had. More in the tradition of the York meets we've had, but to do one in Durham. It's pretty historic, so there's plenty of places to visit, and there's always the Castle and Cathedral (and admit it, you want to see me climb* up a tall building again :p)

Anyway, just thought I'd float the idea. We haven't had a Durham meet yet (which is really strange, considering how central it is in the NE) and there are some nice places to visit. When it's warm, its a good place just to wander about outside and check out the bridges n stuff.

Anyway, over to you guys ;)

Sounds like a good idea, I'll see closer to the meet to see if I can make it.

[face_laugh] No doubt we'll have another York meet in the future. As I recall it was the site of the first Northern meet, thus is stooped in Northern history.

And as for our York meets, a lot of wandering around the walls, the ghost walk, the York Minster (read, crawled up the stairs for your beloved CR) and a trip to Subway where we had a nice picnic and watched Tim spill his sandwich all over his trousers :p

Of all the nice cafe's in York, you went to Subway!?

Man those stairs at the Minster are a killer, eh? I've not been up in like...4 years! I did go up the 243 steps at Wallace monument this weekend though...and the 300-odd at a church in Valencia last year!

Well, we originally wanted to go for a Chinese, but that fell through.

And Subway might as well be FFUK: North's official sponsor, considering all the money we've got them.

    Cool [face_peace]
I know Durham very well As I spend a lot of my time there - The Cathedral is Free to get into (But to Climb the tower is costly)

    Here is a link http://www.durhamtourism.co.uk/

I know there is Two Subways
I think we did talk about having a meet up in Durham some time ago ! York is good but its nice to visit other places

Well, if we go to Durham I think we can probably find somewhere better to eat than Subway. Always nice to sit down and have a meal with each other.

I know of a Lovely cafe down a back street in the Centre
I found it with a german friend of mine when we visited for the day.

Theres always places to eat about a number of pubs have eat out areas near the river or you could go to the curry house!

Car parking can be a pain Im told Hence why I tend to get the train from Darlington.

It'd be good to do something in June.......I'll get withdrawal symptoms if we don't have at least 1 meet a month ;)
