DVD Icons...

I'm currently making DVD covers and was wondering if anyone has the DVD icons that go on the bottom of the disk like, NTSC, PG-13, Region 1, and the DVD Video Icon.

If I am correct, it is not legal to have those icons on your DVD case. I think they're copyrighted. There was discussion on this some short time ago.

I'm not selling the DVD's guys, its just for the cast. I want to make them look as authentic as possible.

Well, nevermind about those PM's, Gehenna.

And Dexx... still not sure about just handing copies out with the logos- if you check the past few days' threads you may find one called 'DVD Logo' or something like that.

 

I'm 17, and don't know better.

The DVD's are only going out to the cast. 7 total.

Edit: And im not even 100% sure if im actually going to put the labels on the DVD.

 

Use the logo, and hand them out. No one will sue you.

People are WAY too uptight about everything on these forums.

Maybe someone is trying to get on the good (dis)graces of the MPAA ;-).

The question is why try to make them look "real" after all it's not like it was a "real" movie ;-). I would be more concerned about making them (the artwork) look professional instead.

 

Of course, presumably it is in the NTSC format, and it is a Region I disc.... I know that doesn't make it legal (I assume they're trademarks?) but still...

 

who cares, man use whatever image you want!

Yeah dude, you're not selling them or anything. They can't sue you if you don't make any money, how could they? What did they lose? That would be like someone suing you for printing off a picture of a logo and giving it to somebody. They would have no grounds on which to sue you, they were not hurt in anyway.
