Ok, just got a copy of The Ring from HMV for $19.95 :D (that's the original japanese version)

Apparently they are selling like hot cakes.

(Though I've bought breakfast at quite a few places, and hot cakes don't seem THAT popular...)

(NO SPOILERS) Slightly different story, though the parts that are the same as the american one are almost shot-for-shot. IMHO, the story in the Japanese version is better than the American, but the American one has a much better visual style (even if they did go way overboard with some SFX), and better score.

So that brings my tally of DVDs up to a grand total of .... 4

    SW: E1
    SW: E2
    Apocalypse Now
    Ring

5 if you count the West Wing set I bought...

Yes, not many, but I have a small disposable income, and even smaller dvd budget...

    What next? Hmmmmmm

Amelie is a good cheapie. But it's French so you'll need to read.

Jay and Silent Bob have some excellent extras on it. The deleted scenes section goes for about 90 minutes and has Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes (Sp?) introing all of the clips. Very funny stuff in there too.
