E.T. and Yoda

im sure someone has brought this up before. but, well, i got excited when i heard it.

i was watching E.T. in the theatre yesterday, and during the holloween scene, when they pass yoda, you can hear a bit of yoda's theme.

its also in the soundtrack, on the holloween cue around the :45 sec mark.

 

Hey, same here! I saw it in the theaters last night, and I shook my dad's shoulder and said, "Hear that?! Hear that?!!!" Then he told me to be quiet, but I was very excited.

 

Old news. I knew about it forever. But yea that's pretty cool.

 

Hahaha I did not know about it... cuz I barely remember E.T. So when I bought the soundtrack I got all pissed... WILLIAMS PULLED A JAMES HORNER!!! He lifted something straight out of his own work!!

Then the guys at jwfan.net were like ummm dude go watch the movie.

 

Yes, ET has loads of stuff that gives nods to Star Wars.

 

Oh, well, old news or not, it excited me.

 

This was in the original ET, but unless someone is a die-hard SW fan, they won't notice it. I probably should go see the ET Special Edition, just to see "Yoda" on the big screen once more before May...

All we need now is the ET theme when we see those senators again in SW, and then the circle will be complete

 

Yeah, now that would be funny.

But, yes, it is old hat really. I knew it was there. *CHUFFED*

But he didn't really pull a James Horner. That's a bit drastic, because it was more of a musical pun in a new project. Something for the people to enjoy. (And we do!). Horner's lifting habit is much more serious than this minor repetition.

 

Miz uhh you missed my point. I did not KNOW Yoda made an appearance in E.T. so that was my initial reaction. Now that I know Yoda's there it makes sense and it's funny.

....I don't quite know what Yoda's theme is....

 

It goes "dah dah dee dah. dah dee dah dee dah. dah dee dah dee dah dee dah dee dah"

 

I'm sure that will help him halibut.


Also, why are some members posting such things as "big whoop ti doo!?" You guy do realise that in the music forum, a majority of the discussion is going to be about music....

Umm... it's the one called Yoda's Theme on the ESB soundtrack...

It's also the first "new" theme in the ESB credits.
