    Nintendo's Metroid Prime:

"Take aim at adventure gaming and sci-fi shoot-'em-up thrills as bounty hunter Samus Aran rockets her way to Nintendo GameCube and planet Tallon IV. The venerable Metroid series starring Samus exploded onto the scene in 1986, and two sequels later, fans still haven't gotten enough.

Doing justice to the original, the developers at Retro Studios charge full-speed ahead with a brand-new ballistic adventure that comes heavily armed with high-caliber gameplay, including first-person adventuring as seen through Samus's combat, scan and other high-tech visors.

Loaded with classic weapons from the previous Metroid games and an arsenal of all-new weapons, Metroid Prime is an adrenaline-charged alien-blasting adventure that's worth setting your sights on."

Nintendo's newest installment in The Legend of Zelda series:

"Since the debut of The Legend of Zelda in 1987, all of Link's games have been the stuff of legends -- universally appealing adventures that emerged as beloved triumphs of gameplay, presentation, innovation, graphics and fun. In the ninth entry in the series, Link debuts on GCN with a fun new look, but the game is still serious about adventure.

The series' classic mix of sword-swinging action, perplexing puzzles and stirring story lines remains intact while the new cel-shaded graphics enable the characters of Link's world to be the most lively and expressive personalities gamers have ever seen. Emotions hit a fever pitch when Link witnesses his sister being snatched up by a giant bird. Embarking on an epic voyage to locate his sister, Link unravels a mystery that deftly blends unique, stylized graphics and effects with the much-heralded mechanics of the gaming milestone, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time."

    Nintendo/Rare's Star Fox Adventures:

"After piloting the Arwing starfighter in the first two stellar Star Fox games, Fox McCloud touches down on Dinosaur Planet for his first adventure outside the cockpit. Many missions still involve the aerial Arwing combat and dogfighting that the sly Star Fox series is known for, but the game pumps up the variety by allowing you to explore on foot and use magical attacks.

Armed with an enchanted staff, Fox will be able to battle against the mutated dinosaurs led by local tyrant General Scales. But not all of the planet's dinosaurs are enemies, and Fox will team up with the prehistoric Prince Tricky. As Fox jets across the skies or traverses the vast planet on foot or on the back of a dinosaur, his showdowns with the planet's enemies will offer the sort of action-packed experience that gamers will go crazy over."

    Nintendo's Super Mario Sunshine:

"Mario is one of the most recognizable characters in video gaming, and he earned his popularity by starring in a streak of first-rate games. In his long-awaited debut adventure for GCN, Mario will be giving gamers what they expect from him -- colorful hop-and-bop action set in sprawling 3D worlds that have surprises around every corner.

In his latest outing, Mario visits a tropical island, where his vacation in the sun comes to an abrupt end thanks to a case of mistaken identity. An impostor has been vandalizing the isle, so Mario straps on a water pump to clean up the mess and clear his name. With the help of Mario's all-new hydro-powered water pump, players will hose down enemies, interact with the locals and meet up with old friends (including Princess Peach, Toad and Yoshi) in a new adventure that's sure to continue the high standard of Mario video games."
