This is true. But frankly, they don't need to look for places that look otherworldly, or almost unbelievable. Just use stunning locations, augment them a bit (multiple moons, alien technology, creatures, aliens, blue grass, whatever), and you have yourself a proper Star Wars planet.

After all, my favorite Star Wars locations (Tatooine and Hoth) are...well...a desert and a mountainous, snowy place. Hardly otherwordly, but when you add the binary sunset, wacky cantinas, dewbacks, tauntauns, probe droids and AT-ATs, they become planets in a galaxy far, far away.

Yes, and it looks roughly tropical, with palm trees and all.

 

What about getting footage from a submarine in the deepest trenches in the ocean? And using those plates as backgrounds for SW worlds? Could use them for non-underwater shots too, with some digital manipulation, which would be weird but really cool.
