Easter Egg in Refugee (Not really big spoilers)

It's on p.223

Tripod are an australian comedic musical troupe whose members nickname are Yon (the short bald guy), Gatsey and Scott (the guy with glasses). They're also in skithouse, singing over the end credits (thats a sketch comedy tv show for you non-aussies).

Cracked me up, god in beaven.

I'm no Australian, but I see what the guy is talking about.

If you read what he said then read the page he gave, then it's not hard to understand.

 

Tripod have a weekly segment on Triple J, a national radio station.
The segment give tripod one hour to write a song featuring the topics given by the presenters.

There was a Star Wars one from last year which was on the topic of love in the galaxy far far away. There were a few other tidbits thrown in to make it harder, such as how to spell Ugg (as in ugg boots...the wooly shoes some of us aussies wear in the winter)

Allow me to interject that I hate improv comedy troupes. Triflin'-*** losers...

They're not an improv comedy group. Their singing stand up comedians. The cover of Sweet Caroline is hilarious.

I have read the NJO out of my local library and so I dun hav teh book @ my house. :'(

 

Here's the relevant passage:

Wow. Whilst listening to that I saw flashes of the annoying "Comedy Sports" kids at my school. Jesus, I hate those guys.

I'll give you that there was one line that made me crack a smile, but I really wasn't impressed.

And I'm not a humorless guy, either. I'm always cracking witicisms in my real life, and I watch alot of Comedy Central. These guys just don't do anything for me. And if they aren't an improv troupe, they sure sound like one, from what I heard.

Yeah, I usually can't stand those routines, with the exception of Steven Lynch. He's funny as hell. Check him out on Kazaa, if you want to here some really funny music.
