Jedi Bib is right... Most of the experiences I've had with EB aren't all that great.

GameStop owns EB...

at GameStop stores, they are actually Intelligent, and FRIENDLY! Unlike the weirdos at EB.

One time I asked the Jerk-of-a-Guy worker at EB (Who's probably in his late 20's, early 30's) when "Rally Championship" would come out for the GameCube, and I asked if they'd be getting any copies in, and the dumb guy had a funny look on his face and replied in a smart-alick way...

"Well, We are a Game store aren't we?"

Ugh...

Besides, I think the dumb guy was an Xboy, he was all GaGa over Xbox.

Not all the EB weirdos work at all EBs.

The guys at my EB are awesome and sometimes the dudes there let us pop in any game we want and play. To me EB and Gamestop are the exact same.

now i've never heard of gamestop... probably because we don't have one here but eb is really my only video game store and to me they are pretty knoweledgable... the only thing to me is they seem to be pitching xbox to every single customer! are they sponsered by them?(I think they are i'm just not sure)

 

Often distributors (eg. Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo) will offer incentives - eg. the store / clerk whe sells the most X-boxes in May wil receive a cash bonus, a vacation, a home theatre system etc.

So if they're pushing something on you hard, they might be angling to win an incentive prize.

 

I think it really depends on the store in your area not all the EB's are bad. I really like our EB in madison, the guys that work thier are really cool, and know me and my friend (Vgamer ) really well. I personally hate Gamestops they dont have that polished look like EB has its kinda just all happestance and thrown together, games radomly hanging on pegs about the store etc... I donno I really like EB get all my games thier, and reserve them aswell.

SOME EB's are okay, and really neat, it's just that my recent experiences with EB's aren't all that great. Some workers in the past HAVE been neat, but most now are cluttses...
