Echoes of the Force: Chapter One

The remnants of the Resistance gathered up all of the supplies from the base on D'Qar and loaded up the transports as they hurriedly planned their escape. They had dealt the First Order a mighty defeat, but they knew that they were unsafe on this planet now that their location was known.

General Organa ensured that she would be the last to leave along with Threepio and BB-8. "You have your orders," she stated briefly to the group assembled outside alongside their vessels, "We will meet at the rendezvous point in one week. That will ensure that we are not being followed. From there, we will send out envoys to determine where to build our next base of operations. Understood?"

Everyone gave out a hearty, "Yes, General", and with that the Resistance proceeded to disembark from their previous outpost. The journey would be rough as usual, but it was the only decision which was their only hope for survival. They would also attempt to contact anyone else who wasn't at the Hosnian system when it was destroyed by Starkiller Base.

As Leia boarded her ship, she encoded her destination towards Chewbacca who was still with Rey on Ahch-To training with Luke. She sincerely hoped that they would be safe there until they could join her. She cried on the inside as her feelings for Han surfaced again and made her sit silently at the controls of her ship. She missed him and the quarrels so much. It was the making up that made their sacrifices worth it. But now, with him gone, she had no one to quarrel with and this made her well up even more on the inside.

She finally fired up the controls of the ship and it rose from the surface of the planet out into the darkness of space. She punched the hyperdrive controls and the ship vanished from its leap into hyperspace.

Chapter One: Part II: A New Home

The ringed gas giant that swirled in the distance was a furry of storms and oddities such as rings that glittered from the sun bouncing off of the frozen debris that made up the extensive ring system of Qoribu located in the Gyuel system. It was a planet located in the Unknown Regions that contained 55 moons, of which one, Nrogu, is where what was left of the Resistance and the Rebellion decided to make as their new home for now. The remaining moons would be monitored and searched to see if any threats existed in the system.

Even in the Unknown Regions, little was known, so taking every precaution was what Leia decided to do by sending her pilots out to scout the other 54 moons of the planet. If there was anything inhabiting the other moons, then depending on the threat would decide whether the Rebels would call Nrogu their permanent home.

Poe Dameron volunteered to be on the missions to scout the moons and launched his X-Wing with BB-8 into the blackness of space. The planet itself was far away, being almost 15 million miles away, and there were many moons inward of Nrogu's location within the system. Most were very small shepherd moons of the ring system, while others were more massive than Nrogu, which was around 5,500 miles in diameter. It would take a while to explore all of the moons sufficiently and effectively to ensure that there were no other civilizations within the system.
