    Hi there!

I've moved to Las Vegas within the last two years from the San Francisco area. Up there, if you were in SF, you went to the Coronet. Oakland, its the Grand Lake. Marin, the Cinema. And San Jose it was the Century. I can only comment though on the Cinema and Coronet. To me, they were cinematic cathedrals. Sad news is the Coronet has been sold and is gonna be demolished. But the Cinema and Grand Lake live on.

By contrast, the theaters I've had the pleasure(?) of visiting down here are mere outhouses attached to casinos.

So set a newbie straight. Where in Clark County does a Star Wars geek go at 1201 for the last hurrah?

It's been discussed at the thread below but most agree.
    Green Valley Ranch
    The Orleans
    The Palms

Neon City Garrison plan to see it at Neonopolis if they will have us. It's one of the few theaters that wont have a cow if we wear our costumes the other 3 mentioned are all at Casinoes. Not sure if the Palms or GVR are holding the movies, though.

I also plan to go Saturday with the kids at Neonopolis as well. It's very central and matinee is 5 bucks.

Other than multiplexes, I don't know of any traditional movie-houses here.

If Neonops allows the Garrison to troop there, I'm game to watch it there as well(sans costume).

If not, its either Regal Cinemas at W Sahara or The Orleans then.

A group of us locals have decided to see it at the UA Showcase 8. Anyone is welcome.

See the following thread for more info:

    Hey everyone...
I haven't been on the forum in, oh...about 2 and a half years, but it's getting to be that time. I forgot my logon in fact!!

I had a blast at the Orleans at the midnight showing of Episode II, I'd thoroughly recommend that one.

We are seeing it at 12:01am at Green valley Ranch. We're probably gonna start lining up around 6pm to 7pm. If you need a ride, I'm sure we can come up with some way of getting you there and back home again.

Which makes going to see it at a non DLP theater first that much better. You'll be blown away, then see it again at a DLP theater and get blown away again!

You could say i'm being bias cause i bought tickets for the 1201 at green valley... but the idea that the 1201, 1210, and 1220 showings are SOLD OUT at GREEN VALLEY.... and 1201 showings are still SELLING at other theatres.. is saying something. I think the party is at Green Valley station. Theres gonna be alot of people there around 11-1130.. cause theres three showings happening within 20 minutes of each other. yikes.

Unfortunately I don?t think there are any more DLP theatres in Las Vegas. Here is the official list of DLP theatres (Nevada isn?t listed):

    http://www.dlp.com/dlp_cinema/dlp_cinema_theater_search_region.asp?rid=1

There used to be one at Sams Town and one at the Orleans. Sams Town has told me they do not have a DLP theatre any more and I have not seen any DLP movies advertised at the Orleans for quite a while.
