electricity effects?

    Does anyone have any ideas for making a lightning/static electricity effect for a costume? Like inside a sword or in a ball that you can hold?

    Obviously, the first thing I thought of were those discs that you can get at Spencer's and stuff that have electric bolts going to the edges, and things of that nature. Does anyone know how those are made?

    That would be a cool effect for a Holocron prop. Only trouble is power. You might wanna stop off at a shop that sells those things and find out how much power they eat up. It might be impractical to have in a portable prop.
