Actual mundane reason for the difference: No one has yet created a cardboard Lamborghini! Should anyone wish to remedy this appalling lack they are free to do so!

Changing tack - read the Brown trio last night. Darth Vader & Son and Vader's Little Princess are utterly superb, but due to this Jedi Academy can't possibly match them. Brown's skills are far better at capsule observations rather than narrative, which is how Jedi Academy comes undone. Plus Jedi Academy trades too much on US school structures to make it as accessible as the first two.

Once again, we fall on opposite sides of an argument. As Threepio might say, it is our lot in life. :p

Except unlike Artoo and Threepio, you two can drink.

Heh, it's a series called Fleeing the End, so to invoke What's Opera, Doc?

What did you expect? A happy article?

Interesting. I haven't read Jedi Prince in about 15 years- but I've read the other three much more recently.

(Also, it wasn't The New Rebellion, but Planet of Twilight, that was in the article).

I agree that there's more worth in such books that might be apparent on first glance. Indeed, I remember them being reasonably entertaining reads, though not gripping.

I wish I could tell you that every word is as worth reading as they were worth typing.

    ... Oh wait, I can.

The link to the thread at the end made me lose an hour of efficient working time.
The power of the Glove... could not be undone.

Are you just pointing that out, or does that relate to something in the article? I don't follow.

It means they now have united distribution with Del Rey, worldwide distribution, and access to Barnes and Nobles, and Amazon.
It also means a tighter relationship with Del Rey

Does it? Not even arguing necessarily, but I don't see that or remember reading it. That story would have some bearing on the topic, certainly, but I don't think anything in Becca's article is explicitly incorrect.

I'm glad you did Coop. And I appreciated the link to @beccatoria's blog and all the effort she's put into her timeline of events in regard to this, for lack of a better way to say it, sad state of affairs.

To put it simply, I don’t believe in executions. I believe in penance. And I want Brian Wood to stay right where he is.

Sounds a lot like Luke's early approach to dealing with Dark Jedi- redeem them, and make them do penance as Jedi Knights, serving the galaxy rather than themselves.
