When it comes to SW protagonists, I like names that either:

    A) Adhere to the "Luke Nounverber" thing
    B) Sound like they're out of Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon

    *shrug*

It was my hope that Rhett 2.0 would adopt the name Kane Starkiller.

Now when I think about it, the reason why Hapes have an elite force of cyborg warriors is because they cost so much to create and maintenance. They are the only one who can afford it and by having those cyborgs they show it.

This reminds me of an article I read where amputees with jobs that require physical activity prefer more rudimentary hand-operated prosthetics to fancy electronic limbs.

So I've started thinking about what our next Not A Committee topic should be, but it's Sunday and I don't feel like thinking so I thought I'd ask you folks: what would you like us to talk about? NACs are our group-discussion pieces and can begin with either a question ("who should the ST villains be?") or a prompt ("create a PT what-if scenario"). You can see the archive of existing NACs at this handy-dandy link. Wattaya got?

How about picking and choosing your own Clone Wars-era canon from TCW-Legendsverse?

I suggest this only because I've been mentally doing this myself.

Well since Dark Horse Star Wars is coming to an end, you could always go for which story arcs you would recommend.

Great article, Coop. The more I think about, I may actually PREFER this scenario to the original assumption that the Sequel Trilogy would start off with the new Republic firmly ensconced in the Senate on Coruscant, governing the known galaxy. It provides for much more exciting plotlines for Episode's VII - IX, like the obvious "Rebels take Coruscant" final battle that would be the Battle of Endor equivalent for this new Trilogy.

But, and I cannot stress this enough, a Republic based in the Rim MUST be fairly stable. I want to at least feel that Endor mattered, that the sacrifices of the Rebel Alliance were not in vain, and that the prior generation can at least feel secure in the fact that they DID re-establish a Republic to govern the galaxy. Maybe not the entire galaxy yet, but still a new government all the same.

Just note that I've trademarked "Rim Republic" and everyone who uses it must pay me a nickel.

I actually really like that as a name that people who are skeptical of the new Republic's gains or the Remnant Imperials would use. It is rather catchy.

I definitely don't want to see the Rebels/provisional Republic government/whatever *take* Coruscant 30 years later if Coruscant is still the political centre of the galaxy. It would mean ROTJ was a bit of a downer, if it then took them that long to take control of the political centre of the galaxy, presumably from the Empire.

I want them having firmly re-established *a* Republic that is broadly similar in size and scope to the PT-era one - whether it's on Coruscant, I don't really care. But IMO Coruscant shouldn't represent the final victory over the political institution that is the Empire: I think that should have happened already.
