Emperor Palpatine costume(cloak & under robe)

Is there a thread already on this costume? If so I apologize for starting another one.

Does anyone have a pattern for the under robe and any good reference pics?

 

I read in the Magic of Myth book that the Emperor's inner robe is just a black Japanese kimono. It's identical to Obi-Wan's in A New Hope, only in black. It didn't mention what it was made of, but Obi-Wan's is raw silk, so I'm guessing the Emperor's is too. I'm also guessing it's crazy expensive, so I'd get something else.

So yeah, I know there's plenty of kimono patterns out there. Find a pic of Obi-wan without his brown robe on to see if the styles are the same.

Oh, and I read in an interview with Ian McDiarmid that he wore a black t-shirt and slacks under the kimono. And if you can find the life-size carboard standup of the Emperor on his throne, it's the only picture I've ever seen where you can clearly see his shoes.
