Is it possible that Emperor Palpatine could have had offspring?

If so did he have them in hiding?

Would this be revealed in the ST?

Would they be a "threat" to Luke and the gang?

Could it be possible for his offspring to defect to the good side?

    Obi-Wan Kenobi in ROTJ:
I think the same applies to Palpatine. He might have been a little careless where Luke and Leia were concerned but I doubt he'd be that reckless where any of his potential offspring were concerned.

Actually, I just had a look at Driver's date of birth. He was born in 1983, meaning he was around 31 during filming last year. Assuming that this film is set 30 years after ROTJ and that Driver's character is roughly the same age as the actorplaying him and that, thirdly, Driver is indeed playing Kylo Renn, that means Renn was born at the time the Empire fell.

Maybe he is a genetically engineered offspring of Palpatine or Vadet or a clone or something. I know that is potentially very schlocky but it is possible, given SW's roots as a homage to B-cinema serials.

Assuming, on the other hand that he isn't anything to do with Vader or Palpatine, why would a person born around the time they died, at a time of great political upheaval, be so interested in Sith lore? Why does he seek out the tomb? Why is he apparentlyso fascinated by Vader? Will be interesting to find out what motivates the character. Is he like one of those morbid Nazi memorabilia collectors but one who slowly becomes obseesed by Hitler and starts agreeing with Nazi doctrine/ideology?

well we know from Plagueis' novel that Sheev was a 'playa' and liked to bang women when he was a young man.. could be that he has a bastard son or daughter out there...

LOL - I didn't know that! Thing is, as per my post above, if Kylo is same age as Driver in real life, Sheev must have fathered him around the time he died. Shrivelled up old prune-face Sheev must have been using Sith mind tricks to seduce women by that point... :D

    Seriously now,
    i
nteresting if he was a womaniser though to compare with Anakin's attachment to Padme and the Jedis' celibacy and austere lifestyle. It would complement Sheev's general decadence and corruption.

Good God, the thought of Sheev having sex gives me the willies? "Now my dear, let me show you how my lightsaber works, ha ha ha ha."

"You sound kind of evil there Senator."

"Oh sorry, I get carried away sometimes."

    lol Flapjack

I can't see Palpatine having any kids, because he's always been too busy planning to take over the galaxy. Also, I mean look at how nasty his face was. He'd have to use a credit card to get women to talk to him.

Part of me thinks I would make sense if the Emperor had some kinky dark side sex mistress or concubines, lol.

Though I wonder if part Sith philosophy is that the accumulation of power is a bigger orgasm than actual sex is, thus the Sith are basically asexual, haha. Or maybe channelling dark side energy has the side effect of impotence as its a somewhat unnatural perversion of the Force.

Because it didn't seem like Darth Maul or Vader were messing around (not sure if Vader was even capable of it), but you would think having an offspring would have appeal to a Sith lord, a "mini-me" protege as it were? lol.

What if Palpatine isn't the first Sith Lord in his family? What if an ancestor of Palpatine was a Sith Lord too?

I kinda wonder though if Sith can even have children.

If the "Force" is basically "natural", then it's quite possible that engaging deeply in the Dark Side/Sith stuff renders your ability to procreate null and void because the Dark Side is a perversion of the Force (and thus a perversion of life).

Kinda makes sense to me anyway. Do any of the canonical Sith have children (prior to their turn to the Dark Side obviously)?

As long as their reproductive systems work, I don't see why a Sith couldn't have children. Most Sith are too self centered to bother with baby making.
